The Phyllis Margolius Family Foundation is committed to investing in people, programs, organizations and ideas to strengthen the greater Washington, DC Jewish and non-Jewish community and Israel... Phyllis Ann Goldman Margolius, a native Washingtonian, was born at Sibley Memorial Hospital on July 18, 1941 and lived her entire life in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area until her untimely death from a rare form of aggressive cancer on February 20, 2014. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, niece, aunt, cousin, friend, confidant, teacher, and a classy American Jewish woman who devoted her life to her family and her community... The Phyllis Margolius Family Foundation, Inc. was created in 2014 by her husband and three children shortly after her death. The void of having lost Phyllis was not only felt by the Margolius family but by the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan Jewish community as well.
