Delia Lopez

Delia Lopez has been an advocate for the last 22 yrs. She started her advocacy journey shortly after her first child was born. This is when the fight began trying to find out what was the condition of her loved one. Also what this would mean for her and her family. After all the challenges with numerous doctors appointments, studies, and hospitalizations, SSI, IHSS, School District and Regional Center. Delia with limited English, began to understand the need to know her rights and responsibilities and how to navigate the systems. Being diagnosed, herself with a major depressive disorder, she began to get involved in her community to help others with IEPs and service appointments. Delia worked for Team of Advocates for Special Kids (TASK) and became the manager of Riverside, San Diego and Imperial counties. There she assisted parents with children who had special needs to understand their rights and responsibilities of special education services and how to navigate the systems. Providing parents with training, facilitating workshops, and collaborating with other organization to put on conferences around TASK. service areas. Delia worked for Molina Healthcare of California in the Disability Senior Access Services for two years. She also worked at Fiesta Educativa as a consultant and Regional Manager Coordinating the 2018 San Bernardino Parent Conference. Delia, brings valuable experience to Rolling Start, Inc. (RSI) She has completed training in Advocacy in Special Education, ADA, Section 504, Transition to Adult Services, Charter School on Special Education, Regional Center, Medi-Cal, SSI, IHSS, State Fair Hearing Process, CCS, Health Care Plans, Dispute Resolutions & Mediations, Due Process & Mediations, Assistive Technology, Community Awareness, and ABA.

Lisa Hayes is the Executive Director for Rolling Start, Inc. a Center for Independent Living serving people with disabilities in San Bernardino, Mono and Inyo Counties. Prior to serving in the non-profit sector, Lisa worked for over twenty years in healthcare operations and contracting. At Molina Healthcare she held the positions of Associate VP of Managed Long Term Supports and Services and Director of Disability and Senior Access Services where she focused on helping Molina shape its healthcare delivery system to meet the needs of older adults and people with disabilities. As the culture of managed care was evolving to focus on providing person-centered care and more home and community-based supports, Lisa was instrumental in identifying strategic opportunities and developing best practices that contributed to ensuring better care, increased satisfaction of members and lowering overall healthcare costs. Lisa currently serves as an appointed commissioner of the California State Independent Living Council (SILC) and serves on NCIL's PAS/healthcare subcommittee. Past service includes six years on the board of an Independent Living Center, three of those as board chair. Lisa holds an AA in Music from Mt. San Antonio College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University.

Nina Dorado is an Independent Living Specialist for Rolling Start Inc. in Victorville, California. Before coming to Rolling Start Nina spent many years working with children and youth some of it in the non-profit sector and at one point had her own child care. For over seven years she served as a volunteer in the juvenile court system speaking to teens hoping to impart something that would be life changing and have an impact on their futures. She loved every minute of it and hopes to run into some of them in life and hear that their lives took a different turn. Nina received her B.A. from Chapman University and was working towards her goal of becoming a social worker in the foster care system but as "chance" would have it she began working with kids and adults with disabilities and has been doing that ever since. The part she loves most about her job at Rolling Start is talking and getting to know her "awesome" consumers better especially when she gets to meet them in one of Rolling Starts classes. Nina has three grown children that she doesn't get to visit near enough and in her free time can be found on road trips getting lost (on purpose) painting, playing her guitar or writing stories.

Norma is an Assistive Technology Specialist for Rolling Start Inc. In San Bernardino California. She joined in March of 2020, a week before the pandemic shut down, as the Accounting Clerk. Prior to Rolling Start, she had been a controller for dealerships for over 15 years. She has both a bachelors and masters in accounting and would like to one day get her CPA certificate. She entered the nonprofit world to explore her passion for social and humanitarian work. She is now the AT Specialist for Rolling Start and proud to be a valuable member of this team.

Pierre has worked an array of jobs over the past Seventeen years. Pierre started his work journey in the customer service industry from fast food to selling phones and cashier work. He furthered his journey in the restaurant industry as a dishwasher and a line cook. Pierre journeyed into the disabled community through work as a caretaker for developmentally challenged adults. There he supervised the individuals who lived in the group home and administered medication. He also became a caretaker for a family member. Pierre is versatile, reliable, and efficient in all areas of work, he has the ability to work with a diverse group of people and has great time management skills. some of Pierre's diversified skills include, but are not limited to. His ability to build client relationships, the ability to build resources, and the ability to complete varied special projects in a timely manner. He is a great asset to the Rolling Start team.
