SENCAT - Key Persons
Alison has taught across all mainstream phases as well as specialist provision. She was an infant school SENCo and is currently a Deputy SENCo in a large secondary school, where she also teaches dyslexic students.
Alison is an experienced assessor for exam access arrangements (EAA. She is keen to ensure that intervention is focused on better outcomes for the learners she teaches.
Carol is a former mainstream primary school teacher and SENCo with many years experience of teaching pupils with SEND. She is dedicated to helping pupils overcome challenges experienced with literacy and numeracy and is an assessor for both dyslexia and exam access arrangements (EAA).
Carol co-developed the Better Move On programme for pupils with motor co-ordination difficulties and Kick Start to Literacy for pupils at the earliest stages of phonic acquisition/literacy development.
Jane co-developed Kick Start Literacy for pupils at the earliest stages of reading and spelling. She is a licensed Elklan tutor and an associate tutor for Best Practice Network.
Tracey is a former Deputy Head and SENCo with many years' classroom teaching experience from London to Bristol in both Special and mainstream schools. She was the Early Language Consultant for Bristol for two years and has co-written two widely used Bristol EY tools: ‘BECAT' (Bristol Every Child a Talker) and ‘Auditing your Outdoor Provision'. She is a local specialist leader for SEND (LSL) with the Bristol EY teaching School.
Tracey is a licenced tutor for ELKLAN and an associate tutor for BPN for the EY SENCo Award. She has worked on several National Projects such as the Early Years Professional Development Programme and is dedicated to supporting pupils to overcome difficulties with language and communication in the classroom.
