The Shore STX 2020 Programs will be led by Katie Nicholson Sawicki and staff. Katie started playing field hockey right before middle school when she asked to go to camp with her mom's middle school team. From that summer on, field hockey became an obsession. Katie participated in the USA Field Hockey's Future's program and joined the Spirit of USA club team. She was selected to play in the Junior Olympics three times and was a member of USA Field Hockey's U-16 National team. During her high school playing tenure, she was named the All Shore Conference Player of Year and was a 2 time NFHCA All-American. Katie received a full scholarship to play Division 1 Field Hockey at the University of Virginia. After college, she played a season abroad in the Netherlands... Once back in the states, Katie switched modes from playing to coaching. She coached alongside her mom, where they won a Group 1 State Championship before her mom handed her over the reins.
