Mark Smith, N.D., Ph.D., M.D. (MA) Dr. Smith is the founder, Chairman of the Board, Chancellor and Dean of the University of Natural Medicine and the founder of the American College of Integrative Medicine. He was also the co-founder of the College of Natural Medicine, Malaysia and wrote the description and codes with Dun & Bradstreet for the Malaysian government for insurance companies to provide insurance coverage for all integrative medicine modalities and treatments. He has lectured and practiced in health clinics throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America, Asia, China, the Middle East , Cyprus and New Zealand. He has studied and worked with Osteopaths, Homeopaths, Naturopaths, Shamanic & Native American Healers and Medical Doctors in acquiring his expertise in the holistic health and integrative medicine field and offers over 40 years of experience as an alternative health care practitioner of Naturopathic and Integrative Medicine in the specialties of nutrition, naturopathic and osteopathic principles, energy and shamanic medicine, herbology, homeopathy, stem cell therapy, detoxification and wellness. Dr. Smith is an internationally renown speaker on natural and integrative medicine and is scientific and medical advisor for several international companies in the areas of research and protocol development for Alzheimer's, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Metabolic Syndrome (Syndrome X) and Stem Cell research using functional foods, nutraceuticals, detoxification and integrative medicine. He currently is involved in stem cell research and has formulated many all-natural stem cell and functional food therapeutic supplements and is owner of several companies in this field. Dr. Smith coordinated and participated in medical humanitarian excursions and mobile clinics in the jungles and Amazon regions of Peru, Ecuador and Brazil, and remote regions of the Philippines, Nepal and Thailand through Doctors with Vision and the International Humanitarian Doctors Without Borders, of which he was the United States director. He currently resides in Asia and part time in the United States. He was recently designated and appointed as a diplomat and director by the United Nations Geneva as a Medical Health Advisor by the Director of International Funding for Human Aid.
