As a Blue Star Museum, the Stockyards Museum is part of a national appreciation program for military families as a way to say "thank you." Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across the United States. The program runs from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day... The Stockyards Museum showcases the rich history of the Fort Worth Stockyards and the north side of Fort Worth. There is a growing collection of artifacts, photos and exhibits that document everything from our Native American connections, the Chisholm Trail, the livestock market/stockyards to the Swift and Armour Packing plants.
