STUDIO SHAFEI

Studio Shafei is a graphic design and photography office working closely with architects, cultural institutions and artists. Studio Shafei was founded in 2012 by Kambiz Shafei in Basel. After studying Computer Sciences and Mathematics in Iran, Kambiz studied visual communication at HGK Basel where since 2014 he is a docent for photography at the Institute IDCE. Kambiz's reserach and teaching focuses on material presences in images. Currently he is working on a PhD thesis titled New Material Presences in Photography at Kunstuniversität Linz, Austria.
