NEW BRITAIN SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Established in September 1996, the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization to recognize those individuals whose achievements and efforts have enhanced sports, athletics and recreation in the Constitution State. In addition to honoring those who make a significant contribution to the state's sports legacy, the New Britain Sports Hall will promote and provide inspiration in sports and recreation to the state's youth... History of the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame. The New Britain Sports Hall of Fame was established in September, 1996. The first introduction dinner was held in February of 1997. Don Clerkin and Bill Huber met with the officers of New Britain Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 511 concerning the possibility of all those who were inducted into the VFW Sportsman of the Year Honor Roll being included in the first class of newly founded New Britain Sports Hall of Fame.
