It locks the pavers together, making them difficult to lift... In 2011, the first generation UnderLock system was developed utilizing porcelain tile. The supreme strength of porcelain tile along with high-tech composites created a self-supporting porcelain paver that could be safely placed on pedestals. This new creation had the center load strength equal to 2" pressed concrete, at a fraction of the thickness. The composite also provided an" internal safety net", that held pavers together if one should happen to break.
