Dr Jon Patricios

Jon obtained his medical degree at Wits University after which he studied for a master's degree at the Institute for Sports Medicine and Exercise Science at Sheffield University graduating with distinction and is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Jon is Director of Morningside Sports Medicine and a sports physician at The Centre for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Rosebank. He has been team physician to the Wits University Rugby Club and the Professional Basketball League. Jon has been the team doctor for the Golden Lions Rugby Team for 10 seasons and over 300 first class matches. He was team doctor to the Cats Super 12 Rugby Team for 6 seasons. He was medical director of the International Rugby Board Under 21 World Cup held in June 2002 in Johannesburg and has been involved in rugby medical administration at school, club, academy and provincial levels for 10 years. He also is medical doctor to the Gauteng Cricket Team and medical consultant to international touring cricket teams. Jon was the regional medical director (Gauteng) for Cricket World Cup 2003 and Chief Medical officer at the World Cup Final, and Medical Director for the ICC World 20/20 Tournament 2007. He is consultant doctor to touring international cricket teams and the Football School of Excellence, Sports Physician to Kaizer Chiefs premier league football team and a member of the Comrades Marathon Panel of experts. He is a founder and director of Sports Concussion South Africa. Jon is twice past president of the South African Sports Medicine Association and serves on the South African Rugby Medical Association, Lions Rugby Medical Committee and the Cricket South Africa's Medical Committee. Jon is a lecturer and assessor in post-graduate sports medicine at 3 universities. He has been extensively involved in Continuing Medical Education Programmes lecturing to colleagues and the public, producing sports medicine education manuals, rugby development protocols and appearing on several national and regional radio and television broadcasts.

Dr. Hooman Eshraghi

Dr. Hooman Eshraghi is an Orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Eshraghi completed his undergraduate medical degree at the university of the Witwatersrand in 2005. He qualified as an Orthopaedic surgeon from Wits University in 2014. Following his graduation, he completed his Fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery at the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Unit, in Johannesburg, under Professor Nikiforos Saragas and Dr. Paulo Ferrao. He recently attended an observership in Minnesota, United states, with the world-renowned foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Chris Coetzee. Dr. Eshraghi regularly attends local and international congresses, meetings and workshops to be able to offer the latest techniques and innovations to his patients. His special interests include Foot and Ankle Sport injuries and reconstructive surgery, as well as Orthopaedic trauma. Dr. Eshraghi has been involved with many sports teams for the past few years. He has been treating athletes from many PSL football clubs, including players from Kaizer Chiefs F.C. and Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. Dr. Eshraghi is a member of South African Orthopaedic Association (SAOA) and South African Foot Surgeons Association (SAFSA). He has been in private practice since 2015 and practises at Morningside Mediclinic and Netcare Waterfall Hospital.
