Dr. Pinelo received her Medical Degree from Universidad Peruana de Cienciaas Aplicadas. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Jacobs School of Medicine in Buffalo NY. Dr Pinelo is attending Howard University for her Infectious Disease fellowship.
Dr. Pinelo loves the fact that she continues seeing a person as a whole. ID is a specialty that allows her to see all systems and organs but with a single focus at the same time. Sometimes we serve as investigators trying to find out what is really going on with the patient. And because we need very thorough information, the patient/doctor relationship becomes excellent.
When Dr. Pinelo is not working, she likes going to the movies or watching a good TV show. Live entertainment is always welcome.

Dr. Davis graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in psychology. From there he did pre-med studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He studied medicine at Rush University in Chicago and was lucky enough to win a full scholarship from the United States Navy. In his third year, Dr. Davis was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor society recognizing the top students in the nation.
He remained at Rush for five years to complete his residency in general surgery. During his time there, he was awarded the Upjohn Travelers Award for outstanding presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology for research he conducted during his residency. Following his residency, he served for four years in the United States Navy, spending two years at sea then two years in academic practice at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Since then, he has been in private practice in Las Vegas for the past 25 years and has had the honor of serving as Vice Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery.
Dr. Davis has been a general surgeon for the past 30 years. Once he was exposed to surgery, nothing else interested him. A combination of intellectual and intuitive thinking combined with hands-on manual labor couldn't be more satisfying for him. He says that sometimes he has to a step back and think about what he does every day. Much of it wouldn't have even been possible 100 years ago. This has made him look hard into the history of medicine and surgery to keep his perspective in how far we, as a discipline, have come in a relatively short time. He feels it is truly a privilege to do what he does.
Dr. Davis has now moved into the field of wound care, which is really something he has been doing all along, but the specialty is rapidly growing and he is eager to learn all there is to know about it and apply that to those in need.
In his spare time, he has been an avid cyclist for 26 years, which has taken him all over the country, and indeed the world, to participate in a beautiful sport. He has been a photographer for many years and never leaves his home without a camera, and is also a musician who plays trumpet, guitar, and banjo - although if you ask the dogs, they might disagree that "musician" is the appropriate tag!

Dr. Pesantez attended Medical School in Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. She went on to complete her residency at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley in Internal Medicine.
She then attended the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital for Endocrinology.
From an early age, Dr. Pesantez saw her family members struggling with diabetes and thyroid disease. This motivated her to find a way to help others to take control of their health and ultimately, improve their quality of life. Practicing endocrinology allows her to positively impact her patients while building a significant long-term relationship.
Dr. Pesantez believes in a holistic approach to patient care that consists of medical management as well as education, support, and guidance. Providing comprehensive care in endocrinology is also a great opportunity to learn and collaborate with different fields like wound care, Podiatry, and Infectious Diseases.
Lastly, she enjoys challenging herself and looking for areas of improvement when dealing with a complicated case. Research, especially in healthcare disparities, has been a useful tool for her to better understand the challenges that patients face after being diagnosed with chronic illnesses.
Fortunately, there have been several advancements in the endocrinology field that she can now apply in clinical practice. Ultimately, her goal is to provide patient care that is effective in terms of outcomes and that reduces the financial burden on her patients and their families in the long term.
When not working, she enjoys running, hiking, and kayaking. When time allows, she travels to explore new cultures, landscapes, and flavors.

Dr. Heeren was born and raised in Las Vegas - he feels greatly attached to the city. As such, he wanted to stay as close to it as possible throughout his education. He originally started his education in engineering and computer science and ended up working in a Biomechanics laboratory. He then graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to do his medical school at the University of Nevada (Reno) School of Medicine where he was awarded his MD. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada (Las Vegas) School of Medicine.
During medical school, Dr. Heeren had the pleasure of working with an Internal Medicine doctor who had a background similar to his. He'd done his medical training in the same places and in the same field. That doctor then became involved in wound care, and Dr. Heeren was able to witness his passion develop for the field and the benefits it had for his patients.
He was also involved with multiple research projects during medical school, and one of them was with a plastic surgeon who was helping to develop a nanoparticle silica product. One application of this product was for burns and wounds. This experience furthered Dr. Heeren's own passion for the field.
He loves being able to see his patients consistently over the time they need to be seen by a wound care physician. He gets to be there every step of the way on their journey, seeing the progress they make.
When not working, he likes snowboarding, pool/billiards, cooking and barbecuing, and spending time with his friends and family.
