Angela Lusty

Originally from Dargaville, Angela started her accounting career working for Chartered Accounting firms in Auckland. She went on to work in a range of commercial accounting roles in international companies, such as American Express, The Walt Disney Company, and Fonterra. As a Director alongside Mark, Angela specialises in process improvement, financial and management accounting, and client relations. As a people-person, she loves getting together with clients and hearing about their goals. She's passionate about helping clients interpret the numbers in a way they'll understand. When she's not in the office, you can catch her eagerly cheering on her children at their sporting games, or relaxing at the beach with a good book. Angela's accounting journey began by working for chartered accounting firms and a global entertainment studio in Auckland. Growing up in Northland, Angela was eager to expand her knowledge and explore the world. Heading to the UK, she worked for a number of leading international companies, including as a Management Accountant for a multinational consumer goods company, and as a Senior Financial Analyst for a worldwide financial services corporation. Angela and her family settled in Hamilton in 2009 and she worked for Fonterra in accounting services. Joining the Accounting Extra team in 2015, Angela quickly became a core member and by 2018 she partnered with Mark as a Director. A people-person at heart, Angela is passionate about bringing together her accounting skills and love for customer service, to build strong, valuable and lasting client relationships.

Linda Watkins

Linda's interest in the accounting world began at an early age, having started as an office assistant for a Chartered Accountant straight out of school. Soon taking on more responsibilities, she balanced full time work while also studying for her Degree at Wintec. She joined the firm in 2001 when it was under the previous name, CG Sheppard & Associates. Linda's favourite part about her role is meeting people. Always keen to learn, she enjoys finding out about different industries and businesses. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and relaxing with a good glass of wine.

Mark O'Brien

Growing up on a dairy farm, Mark has always had a good head for numbers, which led him into his career as an accountant. After graduating from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Management Studies, he worked for a range of large and boutique accounting firms in Hamilton and Auckland. Heading over to the UK for his Kiwi OE, Mark gained valuable experience as a company accountant in various commercial accounting roles. Joining the firm in 2010, Mark now partners with Angela as a Director of Accounting Extra. Enjoying the technical side of things, he likes helping clients make sense of accounting software, while providing valuable business advice and guidance. Outside of work, Mark enjoys sailing, cycling and rolling up his sleeves for DIY projects around the house. Before joining the firm in 2010, Mark spent his earlier years in various large and boutique accounting firms in Hamilton and Auckland. Like many Kiwis, he caught the travel bug and headed over to the UK to expand his accounting experience. Working in various company accountant roles, he gained valuable insights into the different challenges businesses face, knowledge that he now employs when working with clients in New Zealand. With a keen interest in IT, Mark is passionate about helping clients find clarity and confidence in their accounting software. Adding to that is his hands-on experience in the dairy industry (having grown up on a dairy farm himself), giving him the ability to provide his farming clients with practical and relevant advice and accounting services.

Megan Johns

Megan has worked as an Accountant for the last 13 years predominately specialising in the farming industry. Before the exciting world of accounting, Megan worked within the transportation and agricultural industries. Megan obtained a NZ Diploma in Business while working full time in a Chartered Accountant environment and then continuing to achieve her Accounting Technician qualification. Megan joined our Accounting Extra team in 2020. Outside of work, Megan enjoys supporting her son and daughter with their sports. In her spare time she is often participating in various walking events.
