Charles Pullen - VP

Charles has been in the weighing industry for the past 13 years and previously worked for Ishida Europe and Avery Berkel overseeing both commercial and service organisations. Charles has always had a passion for retail weighing and travelled extensively throughout Europe, Austral-Asia and the Americas developing fresh food solutions for major food retailers. He was appointed as Managing Director of Bizerba UK in September 2018 and was elected as a board member of the UKWF shortly after. He was appointed to Vice President on 30th June 2021.

Jim Cameron

Jim joined Avery in August 1988 and has held a variety of roles. His current role at Avery Weigh-Tronix is Service Quality Manager. Jim was appointed to the UKWF board on 30th April 2020

Kevin Cartwright

Kevin started his working life as an apprentice for W&T Avery Ltd back in 1979. The apprenticeship included all engineering disciplines but with a bias towards Electronic Engineering. Upon completion of his apprenticeship he changed direction and moved into the field of Software Engineering. After 6 years he then transitioned to Project Management taking responsibility for developing all of the company's Retail and Industrial products over an 18 year period. When the Avery business was split in 2007, he joined the Avery Berkel Retail business as Engineering Manager and then Engineering Director. Kevin joined the UKWF board in 2011 and has 42 years' experience in the weighing industry.

Marina Campbell

Marina grew up in the West Highlands of Scotland, leaving school to join the Royal Bank of Scotland. The bright lights of Glasgow brought her further south, where her career in Sales & Service within manufacturing started with Akzo Nobel. This was followed by MacSween of Edinburgh, and Peak Scientific. Having had the opportunity to travel the world, she finally settled at Precia Molen UK in June 2017 as Customer Service Manager. In September 2018 she was announced as Managing Director of Precia Molen UK. Marina joined the UKWF board in January 2019.

Mark Clifford

Mark has been involved with Metrology and the Weighing industry since 1994 after serving time originally as a tool maker in the Nuclear Industry. He started his metrology career with EuroPac developing and selling a range of dimensional measuring products into the Automotive and Aerospace Industry, specialising in reverse engineering. In 2004 he started working for Sartorius, switching from dimensional to weighing and was responsible for business development, project management and supply of industrial weighing equipment across all products and industries, plus the product manager for tank and hopper to OEM marketplace. He moved to Herbert Industrial as sales manager for capital weighing and labelling into the fresh food industry for 4 years. He then worked for Bizerba as a BDM to launch a range of inspection products into the UK market, before making the move to Minebea Intec where he is now New Business account Manager for UK & Ireland whilst supporting the European market with Weighing & Labelling Products. Mark was appointed to the board of UKWF in March 2021.

Richard Herbert - President, Treasurer

Richard Herbert is Chairman of the Herbert Group Ltd, based in Haverhill, Suffolk. After obtaining a degree in Computer Science from Manchester University, Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Young (now EY) in London. After 5 years with them he moved to Robert Bosch Ltd, and subsequently joined the family business in 1979. Richard has been Chairman of Saffron Building Society, and also Master of the Worshipful Company of Cutlers' in London. Richard is a former UK Weighing Federation President and has been a UKWF Director for over 25 years. He is also a former Member of the Board of CECIP, the European Association for National Trade Organisations representing the European Manufacturers of Weighing Instruments. He is currently the UKWF Treasurer.

Tom Marren

Tom started his career in the weighing industry as an apprentice at Coventry Scale Company in 1997, before working his way up through the business and taking over as co-owner and Managing Director in 2016. With 25 years' experience in the industry, there isn't an area of weighing that Tom hasn't worked in. His passion lies in technology and innovation, where he plays a key role in developing process control systems and designing weighing software solutions for companies in industries such as automotive, food production, laboratory, and logistics. Coventry Scale Company has been a member of the UKWF for more than 30 years and Tom was elected as board member in June 2021.
