The family history begins long before 1927, of course, but this is where the family history that is inextricably linked to the company begins. Josef Ante founded his small craft business, a sawmill in the beautiful Sauerland, in Winterberg-Züschen. Even back then, the location was perfectly chosen, as it is surrounded by lush forests. This has characterised the company's philosophy ever since - wood of short distances. Back then, he mainly produced sawn timber, pit wood and wooden handles, including for brooms. After the war, his sons joined the company. Erich took over the management and Alfred took care of the technical development of the business. The two brothers developed and expanded the sawmill.
