Alex graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Distinction) in 2022.
He was born and raised in Brisbane, working in referral practice for two years as a Veterinary Technician prior to enrolling in veterinary science. Throughout his studies, Alex worked in the emergency department of a teaching hospital in North Queensland as well as being a member of our emergency team during semester holidays. He has particular interest in internal medicine and clinical pathology, however enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.

Amber graduated from James Cook University in North Queensland in 2012. She then worked as a vet in Cairns for four years before moving to the Sunshine Coast. It was while working at the Sunshine Coast that Amber discovered her passion for diagnostic imaging and started to focus her career around this area.
She has continued to study, and has completed a Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging through Massey University. In 2021, she will sit her Memberships through the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Diagnostic Imaging.
Amber hopes to continue her passion and attain specialist qualification in diagnostic imaging. Amber has a boxer dog called Lego, and in her spare time she enjoys Muay Thai, going to the gym, eating great food and going to the beach.

Casey grew up on the beaches of the Sunshine Coast. She graduated from the University of Queensland, with honours, in 2013. She spent six years in general practice where she developed a passion for small animal surgery, particularly lameness, fracture repair and brachycephalic surgery.
She completed two years of surgical internship and became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons. She is now completing her surgical residency here at ARH to become a specialist surgeon.
In her spare time, Casey is kept busy by her two young boys and her little mixed breed dog, Bailey.

Christine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1983, and completed a small animal medical and surgical neurology residency at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, USA, and a PhD in neuroscience at University of Glasgow, UK.
She is a Diplomate of both the American and European Veterinary Colleges of Neurology and has worked at Melbourne, Glasgow, and Massey Universities, and latterly, in the Veterinary Medicine Department at University of Alaska. At the end of 2019, Christine swapped Alaska's -30 0 C for +30 0 C here in Brisbane and started with the Animal Referral Hospital.
Along with her colleague, Dr Caroline Hahn, Christine has distilled decades of study and teaching about clinical neuroanatomy and neurological localisation into the text book, Veterinary Neuroanatomy: a clinical Approach (Elsevier 2012). Additionally, she has authored/co-authored more than 40 scientific papers ranging from neurobiology and neuronal cell culture to the neurological examination of seals, and spoken at national and international conferences.

Cindy graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012.
She grew up in Brisbane, and after graduating, completed a rotating internship at a Brisbane specialist centre, before travelling and working in England and Scotland. She has special interests in emergency and critical care, and feline internal medicine.
In her spare time, Cindy enjoys playing tennis, painting, traveling and exploring and watching films.

She grew up in Brisbane and prior to graduating from veterinary science, worked at Animal Referral Hospital Brisbane in our Emergency and Critical Care department as a Nurse Assistant.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, visiting weekend markets, working on her green thumb and spending time with her Ragdoll cat Pudding, and English Cocker Spaniel Ernie.

Following graduation from the University of Queensland in 1982, Elizabeth completed an internship in small animal clinical studies at the University of Sydney.
Her specialty training in small animal internal medicine was undertaken in the USA with a residency at the University of Florida followed by a year as a clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth subsequently worked as a small animal medical registrar at the University of Sydney for eight years before becoming one of the first internal medicine specialists and directors of the Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney.
Elizabeth spent seven years living overseas with her husband and Morris, their cat, working in Switzerland, at the University of Bern's veterinary hospital, and at a private specialist and emergency hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
She is one of the founding partners of the ARH Brisbane specialist and emergency hospital.
Elizabeth is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine.

Elizabeth grew up on a dairy farm in South East Queensland. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with honours.
She spent her first two years in mixed animal practice in Pittsworth South-East Queensland, followed by two years in specialist small animal referral practice.
Elizabeth enjoys all aspects of veterinary science and has a particular interest in small animal surgery. She has completed numerous surgical courses including a small animal fracture management course in North America. She is currently completing a small animal surgery residency at ARH.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010. After graduating she spent two years working in mixed practice in Northern New South Wales.
Elizabeth then returned to Queensland where she worked in small animal practice for 12 months before commencing a 12 month rotating internship at a referral practice in Brisbane.
In 2015, Elizabeth completed a 12-month oncology internship with current ARH oncologists, Kathleen O'Connell and Maurine Thomson, during which time she successfully passed her membership examinations in small animal internal medicine. She then commenced a residency under Dr O'Connell and Dr Thomson which was completed at the end of 2017.
Elizabeth passed her ANZCVS fellowship examinations in veterinary oncology in 2020 and is now a registered specialist.
She is particularly interested in haematopoietic tumours and mast cell tumours and is passionate about maintaining an excellent quality of life for her patients.
Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys riding her horses or spending time with her family and 3 dogs, Rex, Bulley and Faddy.

Emily graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, first class honours in 2006 and worked in small animal practice in Brisbane for a year.
She then undertook a small animal rotating internship at the University of Queensland veterinary teaching hospital in 2008 and it was during her internship she developed a love of internal medicine.
Emily achieved Membership to the Small Animal Medicine Chapter of the ANZCVS in 2010 and started her formal residency training at the University of Queensland in 2012. During her time at the University of Queensland she was heavily involved in the teaching and mentoring of veterinary students and was awarded Best Clinician by the final year students in 2016.
She successfully passed her fellowship exams in small animal medicine in July 2017.
Emily enjoys all aspect of internal medicine and has particular interests in gastrointestinal, kidney and immunologic disease. She also enjoys clinical teaching and places great importance on client education.
She is grounded by her husband and Golden Retriever, Stanley.

In her spare time, Farrah enjoys travelling, going to the beach and spending time with her two dogs, Charlie the Maltese cross, and Frankie the Miniature Dachshund.

She worked in general practice on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria for 2 years, before completing an internship at Sydney University.
After completion of her internship, Gemma worked as an emergency veterinarian in a private specialist clinic in Melbourne.
In 2014, she moved to Queensland, undertaking an internal medicine residency at a Brisbane specialist centre.
Gemma successfully passed her fellowship exams in 2018.
She has particular interests in immune mediated disease, infectious disease and neurology.
