Amber Foster

Amber Foster is an Assessment Specialist. She also has over 17 years of teaching experience, giving her a unique ability to help children with their learning needs. Amber received her undergraduate degrees in both Psychology (Honors) and Spanish (Honors) from University of California, Davis and her Master's in Educational Psychology from Ball State University in Indiana. She went on to become an educator and worked in schools in California, Buenos Aires, Argentina and most recently in Hong Kong. During her time in the classroom, Amber became an expert in working with children with different learning needs which affords her a unique perspective when assessing children. Amber passionately believes that all children are capable of reaching their potential and should have access to high quality education. Assessment plays an integral role in this, helping children with learning differences to receive the intervention needed in order to unlock their potential. Amber believes that Educational Assessments should highlight students' strengths, and be practical and support-driven. Assessments are aimed at creating meaningful and purpose driven interventions in order to provide the best support possible for children and young adults. Furthermore, early intervention is one of the keys to helping learners be successful.

Dr. Ipsita Mitra

Dr. Ipsita Mitra is a Literacy and ELL Teacher in Blurton FDC. She obtained her Doctorate in Sociology, specialising in Spirituality and Social Welfare. She has over four years experience in teaching undergraduate students. She has also worked as a teacher trainer conducting workshops and coaching for school teachers in pedagogy. Dr. Ipsita Mitra completed her Doctorate in Sociology and has over six years experience in education, training and research. She has been deeply committed to empowering all stakeholders in the education sector. Before moving to Hong Kong she worked as a Teacher Trainer and has conducted workshops and over 500 individual coaching sessions for school teachers in comprehensive teaching and learning strategies for the classroom. She also worked as an Assistant Professor of Sociology for over three years focusing on application of sociological theory in everyday life. Her areas of interest include faith, spirituality, urban space and gender and has published articles in several international journals. Prior to joining FDC, she worked as a Literacy Instructor with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes (LBLP), Hong Kong, supporting young clients in reading and comprehension based on strategies of concept imagery and symbol imagery. She has also worked with children on the learning spectrum as part of this assignment. Areas of expertise Receptive and expressive language in children

Dr. Jadis Blurton

In her over 30 years as a child psychologist and educator Dr. Blurton has always advocated for the importance of empowering the individual. This philosophy has shaped our practice and how we provide support, counselling and resources to Hong Kong families. As the Clinical Director of the practice her role is to supervise and oversee our team of expert clinicians as they pursue best practices and better outcomes for our clients. Jadis has always been our guide in keeping our practice at the intersection clinical expertise and empathy. Jadis received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the U.S. Prior to coming to Hong Kong in 1996, Jadis taught at the University of California and California State University for several years, as well as practicing clinically and directing a children's diagnostic clinic in West Virginia. In her time since founding the Family Development Center she has also become the Head of School of The Harbour School, where she furthers her educational vision. Dr. Katrina Rozga

Areas of Expertise Stress, anxiety and excessive worry Dr. Rozga is the Director of the Therapy and Counseling Department. She holds a Master of Counselling in Educational Psychology, with a specialization in Counselling Psychology, from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. She also holds a B.A (Hons.) in Psychology, with an undergraduate Honours thesis in Cross-Cultural Psychology, from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. She is registered with and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, a member of the Psychotherapy Society of Hong Kong, a graduate member of the Hong Kong Psychological Society and an Affiliate of the Canadian Psychological Association. She has experience providing counselling services to clients of diverse ages and backgrounds in settings including private clinics, community services and schools.

Dr. Ken Fung

Dr. Fung is a Clinical Psychologist committed to helping individuals/couples/families with different relational and emotional issues using Gottman Method, Psychodynamic, CBT and Systemic approaches. Ken is a clinical psychologist committed to helping individuals, couples and families with different relational and emotional issues. He uses Gottman Method Therapy and other approaches, such as psychodynamic and CBT, depending on the clients' needs.

Dr. Roy Chan

Dr. Roy is a clinical psychologist experienced with conducting psychotherapy and psychological assessments. He regularly speaks at presentations and international conferences on the topics of Autism, social relations and psychodynamic psychotherapy. He enjoys working with emotionally charged individuals, difficult behaviours, and anger management. Languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin. Areas of Expertise Dr. Roy can provide online therapy and counselling in English, Cantonese and Mandarin for: Roy is a regular speaker at schools and corporations to provide education on psychology. He last spoke at Goldman Sachs family forum in support of the continued development of social skills during COVID-19. Roy started his career as an autism therapist in Singapore and worked with the ASD population for the past 8 years. His doctoral dissertation titled the Cultural Narratives Behind Parental Choice of Treatment for their Child with ASD was presented at the 2019 Asia Pacific Autism Conference. He is available for speaking engagements, consultation, clinical assessments, child and adolescent therapy, parental and family therapy, supervision and training.

Florence Lui

Having three adult children of her own, Florence is a big proponent of the "power of families". She has trained with Asian Academy of Family Therapy to use an ‘Interpersonal Dynamic‘ approach to work with couples and families in marriage and families issues, such as family dysfunctions/entanglement, co-parenting, separation matters, communications, intimacy, intergenerational issues, parent-teenager conflicts, in-law dynamics, stagnant relationships, and pre-marital counseling & assessments. She regularly conducts parenting workshops: "Positive Parenting" to empower mothers, couples, parent groups, non-profit organizations and schools in this area.

Neveda Lochhead

Nivedita Ramanujam

Nivedita provides individual and family therapy. She works with adolescents, adults, parents, professionals and executives. She specialises in treating Trauma,narcissistic injury, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, grief and loss, critical illnesses, relational stress, phobias and confidence issues. She is also a certified clinical hypnotherapist. In addition, she offers corporate coaching psychology workshops and programs. Nivedita is an Australian-certified psychotherapist, UK-trained hypnotherapist, mindfulness and meditation facilitator and registered clinical supervisor. She treats adolescents, adults, parents and professionals from international cultures.

Simone Hui

Simone is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist who is committed to delivering fun and evidenced-based service. She received her Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Melbourne. Simone speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She enjoys working with families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Simone strives to provide clients with individualised and holistic support by working collaboratively with their families and other professionals for them to reach their full potential. Areas of Expertise Prior to joining FDC, Simone worked in a private clinic in Melbourne, supporting children and young adults with a range of communication difficulties. Her areas of interests include speech sound disorders, language, literacy, stuttering and social skills. She is also trained in Hanen More than Words, and a strengths-based approach to autism and behaviour.

Tiffany Chiu

Areas of Expertise Children with emotional and behavioural needs Tiffany Chiu graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2016 with a Bachelor (Hons) in Early Childhood Education. She also completed a Master's in Psychology (School and Community) in 2020. Having taught in a variety of early childhood education settings in both Australia and Hong Kong (learning clinics, NGOs and international schools), Tiffany has a deep understanding of the diverse learning needs from children of various cultural and social backgrounds. Tiffany collaborates Mainly working with children between the ages of 2-12, Tiffany provides 1:1 ABA intensive interventions and skills & self-care training in supporting children and their family. If applicable, play therapy may also be introduced to assist the children with their emotional regulation development and self-esteem. Tiffany collaborates with teachers from both local and international schools as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting children within their school setting. As the ABA/ Play therapist at the BFDC, Tiffany incorporates games and creative elements into intervention plans, encouraging the child to learn and develop through the experience. Since March 2022, Tiffany has also been a regular columnist for the Parent-Child magazine "EugeneBaby", authoring topics relating to child self-care and providing game ideas for parents to enhance parent-child interactions. Whilst Tiffany recognises that all children are unique, she will always act in the best interest of the child. Whether it is through building up a child's self-confidence or passing on education techniques to his/her parents, Tiffany ultimately aims to provide a platform from which a child positively develop and achieve their potential.

Wendy Kou
