Amanda Hickman

As Executive Assistant, Amanda Hickman provides high-level administrative support to our Chief Executive Officer and other company leaders. This includes the preparation and management of correspondence, reports, presentations and memos; management of calendars, conferences, meetings and webcasts; oversight of scheduling, travel and accommodations; and maintaining corporate records, client files and company documents. Prior to CapAcuity, Amanda was an executive personal assistant at Ameriprise Financial Services. Previously, she was an administrative assistant with McLaren Engineering Group and held recruiting, training, and support positions with American General Life and Accident and Principal Financial Group. Amanda earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida.

Bert Ward

Bert Ward works with CapAcuity clients and intermediary partners, providing end-to-end case development support for non-qualified plans. As a senior consultant, he provides analysis and recommendations on key issues such as overall plan design, the management of on-balance sheet benefit liabilities including the funding and/or hedging strategies for those liabilities, with the objective of improving overall financial performance and earnings impact. Most recently, Bert was a senior consultant with Principal Financial Group, where he provided non-qualified plan design, financial analysis, and implementation; developed and maintained advisor relationships; and partnered with advisors on client relationship management, sales presentations, and participant and sponsor education. Bert earned his bachelor's degree in finance and master's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. He holds Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations, as well as Series 7 and 66 registrations.

Bryant Kirk - COO

Bryant Kirk has over 35 years of executive leadership experience in the fields of retirement, insurance and financial services. Bryant currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of CapAcuity. In this role, Bryant provides leadership and vision to ensure the company has the resources, operational capabilities, administrative, reporting, and compliance procedures in place. As a member of CapAcuity's executive committee, Bryant collaborates on the strategic direction and policies of the firm to effectively grow the organization and to ensure its financial strength and operating efficiency. Most recently, Bryant was the Chief Operating Officer of Newport Group. In this role, he launched successful growth initiatives that included numerous strategic acquisitions for this leading qualified and non-qualified retirement services provider. Through these and other organic initiatives which Bryant led, Newport saw significant growth; the firm presently has over $250 billion in corporate retirement and insurance assets, and over 1,200 employees nationwide. Prior to his tenure with Newport Group, Bryant was Vice President of Financial Planning with Prudential Financial. In this role, he created a new objective fee-based financial planning platform and customer experience which included technology, a broadened product suite and a new sales channel. He oversaw the consolidation of Prudential's regional marketing units to create a centralized national marketing and sales support organization for the firm's retail insurance business. He served in a consultative and oversight role as a Board member of Pruco Securities Corp., helping to resolve regulatory issues in support of stakeholder interests and compliance requirements. Formerly, Bryant was a Board member and advisor to Main Data Group, now a subsidiary of Pearl Meyer, which empowers executive compensation professionals through benchmarking executive compensation and corporate governance procedures-delivering comprehensive total rewards and corporate governance information through a state-of-the-art online service. In his role, Bryant provided consulting and support for strategy development, budgeting and planning, and serving as a liaison between the company and its stakeholders, including investors. Bryant received his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his master of business administration in finance from Arizona State University.

Chip Seybel

As a senior investment analyst, Chip is an integral part of the investment research team that performs investment reviews, investment reporting, and advisory services for the firm's clients-including the construction of investment menus for deferred compensation plans, and the construction and maintenance of portfolios to effectively implement asset-liability management. Prior to CapAcuity, Chip was a trading and research associate with Hanlon Investment Management in New Jersey, where he managed investments for qualified and non-qualified plans; researched, updated and analyzed investments, and assisted with the firm's communications and marketing. Previously he was an operations analyst and equity trader with ICC Capital Management (later Highland Capital). Chip earned his bachelor's of business administration, finance degree from the Flagler College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Christien Avant

As a financial analyst, CJ plays a key role in financial planning and reporting, including tracking of company revenue; reporting on budget and forecast variances; revenue tracking, reporting and reconciling for legal entities; and building and maintaining our commission system. CJ's other responsibilities include multi-year forecast reporting and variance analysis; documenting processes and performance; and supporting billing and collections. In addition, he will assist with the formation of policies and procedures in the financial area of CapAcuity as the company continues to grow. Prior to CapAcuity, CJ was a reconciliation analyst with Alegeus Technologies, responsible for general ledger activity, reporting, automation of account reconciliations, and the streamlining of reconciliation and operations processes. He earned his bachelor's of business administration, finance degree from the University of Central Florida.

David Baum - Managing Director

David Stecher - Managing Director

David Stecher has over 25 years of experience driving efficiencies for non-qualified plan sponsors and participants-focusing on plan design, cost-efficient funding of plan liabilities, communication and education, and administration. Dave currently serves as Managing Director with CapAcuity, where he consults with plan sponsors to provide creative and cost-effective solutions to address the changing executive benefit plan landscape. Dave collaborates with plan sponsors as they navigate the impact of new corporate tax laws that affect how plans are funded; reductions in investment product costs that impact plan sponsors and participants; increased expectations for vendor pricing transparency; and heightened focus on regulatory compliance. Additionally, he is actively involved in expanding the firm's distribution partnerships and strategic initiatives. Prior to CapAcuity, Dave served as a managing director, executive benefits consulting for NFP Retirement and its sister company Retirement Plan Advisory Group (RPAG). Previously he was executive vice president for Retirement Capital Group, tax and auditing accountant for KPMG Peat Marwick, and EVP and head of West Coast operations for AXA Advisors' Executive Benefits Group. Dave received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Delaware, and his master's degree in taxation from Widener University in Philadelphia. He is a holder of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. Dave also holds Series 6, 7, 63, 65, and 24 registrations. He is a prolific writer on industry issues, and the past chair of numerous civic organizations.

Don Harrington

Don Harrington has over 30 years of industry leadership experience in nonqualified executive benefit programs. Don was one of the founders of Westport Strategies, a boutique consulting firm focused on helping companies properly fund their nonqualified benefit programs, from the review and takeover of existing funding strategies to the design and implementation of new funding strategies. CapAcuity and Westport merged their operations in 2019 to create a larger and even more robust consulting, investment strategy, and asset management firm. Don earned his bachelor's degree from Stonehill College and his master's degree from Long Island University. He holds series 7, 63, and 65 registrations and is a licensed insurance representative.

Earl Schwabe

Eddie Selover

Eddie Selover has over 30 years of experience in brand and marketing communications, helping companies and individuals express their stories in ways that are more relevant, credible, and impactful. Eddie currently serves as Vice President, Communications at CapAcuity. In this role, Eddie is responsible for sales and marketing communications, executive communications, advertising and public relations. One of his chief areas of focus is building the firm's brand identity and managing its expression in print, social media and other online platforms. Prior to CapAcuity, Eddie was director of communications for Newport Group, where he headed the corporate communications team. In that role he had key responsibility for the firm's brand identity, advertising, public relations, company publications and marketing material, and for executive and human resources communications. He led two complete redesigns of the company's corporate website, wrote and coordinated communications for several mergers and acquisitions, and was responsible for onsite AV and program management of the company's annual conference. Previously, Eddie worked in corporate communications for Guardian in New York City, where he wrote for the CEO and other members of the executive team. While at Guardian, he won a prestigious ARC Award for creating the company's Annual Report, and led the company's disaster communications following the events of 9/11. Previously, he worked at Prudential in Los Angeles and Newark, working on large-scale communications projects with the CEO's office and individual insurance teams. In addition, Eddie is an award-winning speechwriter and public speaker. He is a two-time winner of the Cicero Speechwriting Award, and his TED talk "How PechaKucha Changed My Life" has been viewed over 145,000 times. For the past eight years, he has been the organizer and host of PechaKucha Orlando, a popular public-speaking event which has won numerous awards for its contribution to Orlando's arts community. In 2019, Orlando Magazine named him to its annual list of the 50 Most Powerful People in Orlando. Eddie received his bachelor's degree in Honors English from California State University, Northridge. He also holds certifications as a life coach from the Life Coaching Institute of Orange County.

Glen White

As a Senior Financial Analyst, Glen provides CapAcuity clients with "cost/benefit" analyses of their funding and hedging strategies, creating strategies to improve efficiencies and enhance performance. Prior to CapAcuity, Glen has held a number of leadership positions with financial and retirement services firms, including vice president, financial design/analysis with Aegon/Clark Consulting; vice president, financial design/analysis with Hobbs/HRH/Westport; and senior policy administrator with Westport Management Services. Glen earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Western Connecticut State University.

Hema Ford

As a Client Relationship Manager, Hema Ford provides asset reporting, plan implementation services, and asset/liability management and trading for CapAcuity's client companies. In addition, she helps our clients manage the impact of tax, accounting, legislative and regulatory compliance issues related to their plans. Hema brings many years of expertise in executive benefit plan funding strategies to CapAcuity. Along with her experience in asset management, she has vast experience working with 409(A) regulations pertaining to non-qualified plan recordkeeping, including payout structures. Previously, she was a quality control analyst for the customer service and processing areas of ING Financial Services. Also for ING, she was a financial processor and service representative for a qualified plan for New York State United Teachers 403b plan and the State University of New York optional retirement program. In this role, she and her colleagues helped provide thousands of plan participants across the state of New York with plan enrollments, fund transfers, payouts, financial transactions, plan communications, and customer service. Hema earned her bachelor's degree in finance from Siena College, and holds a series 6 registration.

Hemant Srivastava - CTO

Hemant Srivastava is an expert strategy and information technology executive with almost 20 years of experience in the financial services and health care industries. Hemant currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at CapAcuity. In this role, Hemant is responsible for all IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, governance and security across the company. Prior to joining CapAcuity, Hemant headed an independent consulting firm which provided enterprise-wide strategy, financial, and information technology consulting services to a wide range of large public and private companies. Previously, Hemant was chief information officer at Hooper Holmes, Inc., a national health risk assessment provider. As CIO, Hemant was responsible for leading an information technology department of over 120 professionals globally. Prior to Hooper Holmes, Hemant was a senior IT and management consultant specializing in the financial services sector for a boutique consulting firm in New Jersey. Hemant received his bachelor's degree from Brock University and his master's and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University.

Jeffrey Hogg

Jeff Hogg is responsible for the planning and implementation of CapAcuity's industry-leading asset/liability management (ALM) system. This includes features such as executing complex hedging strategies, automated monthly client reporting, and zero-defects trading. In this role, Jeff develops and maintains relationships with trusts, insurance carriers and recordkeepers; and coordinates the implementation of new cases with clients, consultants and partners. Jeff is an IT professional with over 20 years of experience leading teams, solving problems and delivering results. Prior to CapAcuity, he was director of tech operations, projects and data with Bodhala, an Onit Company; in that role he managed key clients, implemented new technologies, and set up systems to manage complex workflows. Previously he was senior engagement manager for The Kini Group, senior consultant for Borzal Consulting, equity research analyst at Goldman Sachs, and held leadership positions with a variety of digital media, data services, and IT consulting firms. Jeff received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and operations research from Princeton University.

Jennifer Fristachi

As Director, Internal Operations, Jennifer Fristachi oversees and manages several critical business functions for CapAcuity, including human resources, employee development and training, regulatory compliance, office operations and administration, and company information management. She also provides project management support on key business processes to optimize efficiencies and streamline collaboration, including our client relationship management system, case development pipeline, and document management. Previously, Jennifer was vice president and principal, corporate communications with BNY Mellon. In that position, she managed strategic communications for global risk, regulatory and business change programs. Jennifer also held several positions at Newport Group, where she served as director of product and service communications as well as director of sales and marketing operations. Jennifer earned her business administration degree from Mildred Elley Business College in Albany, NY.

Jennifer See

Jennifer works closely with plan sponsors and third party administrators to ensure that all plans meet regulatory requirements and exceed client objectives and expectations. Jennifer has worked exclusively in the non-qualified deferred compensation plan space for over 10 years. Prior to CapAcuity, she served as senior advisor for executive benefit consulting at NFP Retirement and its sister company, Retirement Plan Advisory Group (RPAG). Jennifer received her bachelor's degree in political science from Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a FINRA Series 7 securities registration.

Julie Ash

As Director, Implementation and Client Management, Julie Ash works with trustees, custodians, and insurance carriers to coordinate the implementation and onboarding of new client cases. Her ongoing client support is grounded in her extensive knowledge of design, funding, and compliance issues in the executive benefits and nonqualified plan market. Prior to CapAcuity, Julie worked for the executive benefits firm MullinTBG, a Prudential Financial company. Joining Mullin Consulting in 2000, Julie held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, ending as director of funding administration. Previously, she was a benefit specialist with the John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston. Julie earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Whittier College. Kerry Rubin

Kerry St. George - CMO

She will develop and manage important relationships with the firm's intermediary partners, including financial consultants and advisors. Prior to joining CapAcuity, Kerry was a regional director with Newport, an Ascensus company, and a Vice President and client relationship manager with MullinTBG, a Prudential Financial company. Previously, she held similar positions with a number of Boston-based firms including Willis Towers Watson (formerly Watson Wyatt) and Lander & Associates. Lara Smith

Lisa Yager

Previously Lisa was an international sales associate with Chori America, facilitating sales between the U.S., Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. Liza Sepulveda

Lizz Holmes

Most recently, Lizz served as public relations manager with Newport Group where she was a key member of the media and events teams, focused on strategic projects and working with industry associations. Prior to Newport, Lizz's experience included coordinating large-scale events and public relations with organizations including advertising agency Kidd & Driscoll and Knight-Ridder's Tallahassee Democrat. Lizz earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from Florida State University.

Mena Haile

Previously she was an analyst with Ayco Personal Financial Management, and a senior claims adjuster with Liberty Mutual. Mena earned her bachelor's degree in business economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

Mendel Melzer - Chief Investment Officer

Mendel Melzer has over 30 years of experience as an executive and leader in the world of investments and asset management, serving as both President and Chief Investment Officer at several major financial institutions. At CapAcuity, Mendel serves as Chief Investment Officer, where he is responsible for leading the firm's investment advisory services and chairs the firm's investment committee. He and his team analyze trends in investments and recommend appropriate asset allocation, funding and hedging optimization for CapAcuity's clients. As a member of CapAcuity's executive committee, Mendel collaborates on the strategic direction and policies of the firm to effectively grow the organization and to ensure its financial strength and operating efficiency. In addition to his role at CapAcuity, Mendel also serves as an investment committee member of multiple investment partnerships and leads a family real-estate management firm. Since 1984, Mendel has held multiple senior positions with leading investment firms. For 15 years, Mendel was President and Chief Investment Officer of Newport Group Securities. In that role he built, staffed and oversaw an institutional broker-dealer and investment advisor with over $25 billion in assets under advisement. Prior to joining Newport, Mendel was Chief Investment Officer at both Prudential Investments and Weiss, Peck and Greer. In those roles, he led investment teams responsible for both public and private investments totaling $180 billion and $18 billion, respectively. At Weiss, Peck and Greer, Mendel was instrumental in launching several new alternative investment vehicles. At Prudential, he led all investment activity for non-general account investment strategies, following several years leading merchant banking teams. Mendel earned his bachelor's degree (with honors) in management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his master of business administration (with distinction) in finance and international business from New York University. Michael Sprouse

Mike Sprouse has 20 years of experience as an expert in information technology, software development, and computer programming, as well as the testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of development solutions. At CapAcuity, he works with our management team to further enhance our proprietary asset/liability management and client reporting systems. Mike's IT expertise helps CapAcuity deliver fully automated, accurate outcomes required to execute various client funding strategies. Previously, Mike was a senior programmer with Harris Computer/Capital Computer Associates, where he developed and tested IT solutions for online accounting, payroll, and professional development, as well as designing and coding online shopping modules and file storage solutions. He also served as a senior programmer with Applied Underwriters and a consultant with Robert Half International. Mike earned his associate of science degree from Iowa Western Community College.

Mike Porter

Mike Porter has 20 years of experience working in non-qualified deferred compensation plan administration. In his role at CapAcuity, Mike provides corporate clients, consultants, and insurance carriers with customized ongoing program services. Prior to CapAcuity, Mike was Senior Vice President with Clark Consulting, leading an office which managed non-qualified plans for major corporations. In this role he and his team created plans on a proprietary administration system, facilitated annual participant enrollments, and managed the asset/liability rebalancing process. Previously, Mike worked at The Ayco Company, Inc., formerly an American Express subsidiary. At Ayco, he managed the ongoing administration of individual non-qualified supplemental executive benefits and corporate owned life insurance programs, the majority with Fortune 500 companies. Mike earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Siena College. He holds Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations, as well as Series 6, 7, and 63 registrations.

Pete Neuwirth

Pete Neuwirth has over 35 years of executive benefits, pension and post-retirement benefit experience with major employee benefits consulting firms. Pete currently serves as Senior Consulting Actuary at CapAcuity. In this role, Pete collaborates on the construction of the firm's proprietary financial, tax, and funding models. He facilitates pricing negotiations with insurance companies and collaborates with CapAcuity team members on product design and development. He consults with clients on the analysis of product-level funding costs and corporate-owned life insurance (COLI) product optimization. Pete serves as a key resource and subject matter expert for CapAcuity's relationships in the consulting and advisory communities. Prior to CapAcuity, Pete was a senior consultant with Willis Towers Watson, and was a key member of that firm's team of subject matter experts in the areas of non-qualified executive retirement programs including supplemental employee retirement plans (SERPs) and NQDC plans as well as the use of COLI and bank-owned life insurance (BOLI) to fund and hedge such benefits. Previously, Pete served as the retirement practice leader for several major actuarial firms and was the leader of an actuarial practice before returning to Towers Watson in 2006. He has worked with both public and non-public organizations on the design, implementation and funding of defined benefit, defined contribution and post retirement health and welfare programs. Pete has been actuary and consultant to many multi-national Fortune 500 corporations and has assisted his clients in numerous corporate transactions involving mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs. Rob and his team oversee investment menu construction, create and maintain risk-based portfolios, evaluate institutional investment portfolios, and perform a wide variety of investment-related review, reporting and advisory services for the firm's clients. Rob serves as a member of CapAcuity's investment committee. Before joining CapAcuity, Rob was vice president, investment strategy and research at LAMCO Advisory Services, where he was responsible for developing the firm's investment research processes and making asset allocation and investment strategy recommendations to the firm's investment committee. He conducted and published extensive research on capital markets and global economic conditions. Prior to LAMCO, Rob was a partner and the director of research at AndCo Consulting (formerly The Bogdahn Group) where he led a team of analysts responsible for researching and recommending investment strategies for the firm's institutional clients, developing custom risk-based asset allocations as well as authoring the firm's quarterly market commentary and providing informal strategy and market updates to support the firm's client-facing consultants. As Senior Vice President, Scott works with corporations to help manage their business risk relative to nonqualified benefit plan design and funding. He consults with clients to develop an understanding of current and long-term objectives, provides an in-depth analysis of existing programs, and then offers recommendations that address the impact on cash flow, earnings, shareholder value and other objectives. Scott was one of the founders of Westport Strategies, a boutique consulting firm focused on helping companies properly fund their nonqualified benefit programs, from the review and takeover of existing funding strategies to the design and implementation of new funding strategies. CapAcuity and Westport merged their operations in 2019 to create a larger and even more robust consulting, investment strategy, and asset management firm. Scott earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. He holds series 6, 63, and 65 registrations and is a licensed insurance representative.

Previously, Ted was a senior software engineer with Osprey Software Development, where he developed specific client projects including a web-based system for insurance quotes and loans, and a web app to provide data, analysis, and research to aid in policy development and strategic planning. Ted has held senior software engineer positions with several technology and software companies including Flow Management Technologies, Exorida, Fact/Synquest, and Enable Software. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology from the State University of New York.

Terri Moore

As Senior Accounting Analyst, Terri Moore supports CapAcuity's financial team in the general accounting area, specializing in the management of accounts receivable and accounts payable. Her responsibilities include billing, collections and vendor management, and her other general accounting responsibilities include assistance with audits and state tax filings. In this position, she reports to the Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining CapAcuity, Terri was the senior billing specialist at Newport Group, responsible for non-qualified, investment consulting and general insurance including the corporate- and bank-owned life insurance businesses. In this role, she also established key relationships with Fortune 1000 clients. Previously she worked in the real estate industry and in general accounting for a local law firm. Terri attended Valencia College with a focus on accounting.
