Alexis Wang

Alexis has worked in Canadian immigration since 2010, she is experienced in family sponsorships, temporary and permanent resident applications, PR renewals, Canadian citizenship, as well as applications for refugee protection. Alexis also holds a Law Clerk diploma from Centennial College and a Bachelor degree from the University of Toronto. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Audrey Anne Chouinard

One of the most prominent young immigration lawyers in the country, what sets Audrey Anne apart is her immense passion for her career as an attorney. Before joining the Galileo ranks, Audrey Anne completed her legal internship at an international firm where she learned the ropes of business immigration and mobility. Once she received her call to the bar, Audrey Anne chose to practice immigration and labour law before ultimately specializing in business immigration and international mobility. She has since authored several Yvon Blais publications relating to her field of expertise. Audrey Anne's primary practice involves assisting corporations in the energy, mining, entertainment and fashion industries with their international recruitment efforts, as well as representing individuals and entrepreneurs seeking advice on business immigration and family reunification. Using her carefully honed skill set, she can guide her clients to successfully achieving their Canadian immigration goals, be it on a temporary or permanent basis. Audrey Anne currently serves as the Young Lawyers Representative on the National Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association's (CBA) Immigration Section. She has also been a member of the Quebec Division of the CBA's immigration Section since 2014.

Beatrice Umana

Beatrice has worked in immigration for over 30 years, including service at the Canadian Embassy in Guatemala City, the British Consulate, and interpreting at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and for Immmigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada and Canadian Border Services Agency. She has experience with a wide variety of immigrant and non-immigrant cases, including Provincial Nominee Programs, Citizenship and Sponsorship cases. Prior to joining CILF she worked on many high profile refugee and complicated Family Class cases. Beatrice is also fluent in Spanish.

Daud Ali

Daud's practice encompasses a broad range of immigration matters including routinely assisting clients with business visas, all types of work permits (including Labour Market Impact Assessment based work permits), rehabilitation applications, temporary resident permits, citizenship applications and permanent residency applications. During his time at Osgoode Hall Law School, he served as a caseworker in the Immigration and Refugee Division at Parkdale Community Legal Services where he assisted low-income individuals and families with immigration and refugee matters. He completed his articles at Neighbourhood Legal Services in downtown Toronto where he primarily focused on immigration and citizenship matters. Prior to joining CILF, Daud worked as a lawyer at an immigration boutique in Toronto where he practiced immigration law, focusing on humanitarian and compassionate applications, inadmissibility matters, family class sponsorship and temporary resident permits.

Esther Fiallos

Esther has worked in the area of immigration law for over 20 years. She graduated from Seneca College with a diploma in Legal Office Administration. Since then she has focused on business immigration, including Labour Market Opinions, work permits, Skilled Worker and Canadian Experience Class applications. She has experience with the Immigration Appeal Division, including sponsorship and removal order appeals. She also has a working knowledge of federal court procedures for overseas and inland refusals. Esther is also fluent in Spanish.

Frank Biamonte

Prior to her time with the firm, she worked abroad for the US Embassy in Rabat, Morocco as a Political Affairs Assistant and for the International Rescue Committee as a Refugee Resettlement Caseworker. Katrina holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.

Musie Semere

Musie has worked in the area of immigration law for close to five years. He graduated from Humber College with a diploma in Paralegal Studies and has been a Paralegal (P1) Licensee, and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario since 2018. He also obtained his Immigration Consultant certificate in 2021 to bolster his knowledge and has experience with corporate immigration, temporary work permits, study permits, family sponsorship applications, and Labour Market Impact Assessment applications. He is also adept in legal research and finding unique solutions to problems. Musie joined our team in early 2023.

Shirin Mukherjee

Shirin has worked in the field of immigration law for more than 15 years and is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. Shirin's practice encompasses all aspects of Canadian business Immigration law. Prior to joining CILF, she worked at a prominent immigration law firm where she regularly advised corporate and individual clients on various immigration issues, including overseeing and preparing applications for temporary and permanent residence and immigration compliance. Shirin is a member in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants and the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants. She has a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Windsor and graduated with high honours from the Immigration Practitioner Program at Seneca College. Shirin also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master's degree in International Relations from Jadavpur University in India. Shirin is fluent in Hindi and Bengali.
