OUTDOOR SCHOOL

Outdoor School is situated along the banks of the Frio River on the 1,900-acre H. E. Butt Foundation property deep in the Texas Hill Country, 13 miles north of Leakey on U.S. Highway 83. The camp is approximately 120 miles northwest of San Antonio and 60 miles west of Kerrville... At Outdoor School, we hope to affect real change in our students' lives. The lessons we teach in the Canyon are specifically designed to give students, their schools, and their communities the tools they need... The H. E. Butt Foundation Outdoor School is the one place where education, adventure, and community come together as one. Partnering with San Antonio Schools, The Outdoor School helps San Antonio teachers, students, and communities to get outdoors and connect with their natural spaces. Our partnerships culminate in a 3-day, 2-night retreat set within the rugged beauty of the Texas Hill Country.
