HSC - Key Persons
Tom Hughes founded Hughes Supply Company in 1985. The one-man shop was based in his hometown of Pax, WV and was housed in a building Tom's grandfather constructed in 1915. At its inception, HSC was a sales and service company performing general electrical repairs and selling and repairing mine related communications products and electrical components. Tom quickly grew the company to 10-20 employees and HSC remained that size until 2008 when it began to diversify over a broad range of products and services. Of those diversification opportunities, water / wastewater products and solutions, building automation systems and light commercial / residential heating and cooling services rose to the top and remained the focus for many years. Today, HSC is focused and committed to excellence in building automation and controls.
What began as a one man show in 1985 has blossomed into a family affair, led by a father-son duo who share a deep respect for the customer. John Hughes began working for his father at the age of 16 and has occupied many positions in the company before becoming the vice-president / COO of HSC. With offices in East Tennessee, HSC is proud of its past accomplishments and looks forward to providing the service and care that so many HSC customers have grown accustomed to. By narrowing the focus to building automation, HSC is able to maintain the essential business philosophy held by Tom Hughes since the start of his company in 1985.
