August Bugge III

August "Augie" Bugge has been an instrumental part of the growth of IFP. In addition to running his own branch office in Florida, Augie serves in the capacity as OSJ Designee for IFP. He has tirelessly offered his time and expertise to setting up systems and offering guidance where need be both for the development of IFP and the MoneyEdge financial software program.

Dan Harriman - Founder, President

Dan Harriman graduated from The Ohio State University in 1981 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He began his working life in Petroleum Engineering in the oilfields of Louisiana with Amoco Production Company. In 1984, a friend introduced him to the wonderful world of investing and he has been entrenched ever since, making it his full-time occupation in 1993. Dan loves working with clients and helping them "get there" financially to reach their goals. He prides himself on being there for his clients and has been fortunate to work with many clients over multiple decades. In 2004, Dan designed and helped develop a web-based planning software called the MoneyEdge used by many associates to perform financial reviews for their clients. The software has been privately labeled and used by over 1000 advisors since its inception. Dan's objectives are to help families and individuals become debt-free and financial independent with the freedom to achieve the goals they set for themselves. The MoneyEdge was designed as a planning tool with these objectives in mind. In November 2008, Dan was selected by the Dave Ramsey Endorsed Local Provider program to work with clients who have asked for financial advice through the Dave Ramsey program. This was changed to the SmartVestor program in August 2016. In August 2014, he set up Independent Financial Professionals (IFP) and moved his investment business to Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. after a 15-year career with Capital Choice Financial Services as an Executive National Marketing Director. From his office in Cedar Park, Texas, Dan currently advises on over 85 million dollars for his personal clients and also serves as a mentor and supervisor to securities representatives around the country. The total group advises on over $621 million of assets under management and does business in 48 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Dan lives in Round Rock, Texas with his wife Linda and their three boys, Blaine, Dillon, and Jason.

John Spano

John Spano joined IFP in August of 2017 as an OSJ designee to assist Tim O'Brien with supervision duties of the growing IFP enterprise group. In addition to his OSJ duties, John has a large personal book of business he manages. He first got started in financial services in 1999 and has a broad-based knowledge of the financial industry having worked with Janus Mutual Funds and Merrill Lynch prior to helping clients on his own. John has a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas along with his professional licenses which include the Series 24, 6, 63, 66, 7, and his Texas Group 1 insurance license. When not helping his clients or working with our advisors, John enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking, water, and snow skiing, and traveling. He had the great privilege to travel extensively throughout Europe, both while studying in Rome for a summer and while working for Merrill Lynch International Bank in London.

Konnie Oordt

Konnie joined the firm in October, 2007 and has served many roles in the company including human resources, client development and retention, registration and licensing, technical support, and strategy development and implementation. Ms. Oordt has 20 years of experience providing customer service and administrative assistance for Commercial and Personal insurance companies such as LaMair-Mulock-Condon Co. and Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. She also has a background working with computer software companies as CE Software, Inc. and Opis Corporation. Originally from Iowa, Konnie holds a Fashion Merchandising degree from Patricia Stevens College in Omaha, NE. She has spent years supervising and merchandising retail stores.

Kyle Selberg

Kyle Selberg brings more than 39 years of financial services experience to his executive leadership role. Many of you are familiar with Kyle as he served as the head of recruiting and transition services at Cambridge Investment Research from 2008 to 2020. In this role, he led recruiting guidance and support for Cambridge's independent branch managers across the country. He also served on the executive board where he contributed in a collaborative executive capacity to the company's overall strategy for revenue growth, service, and profitability. In 2020, he voluntarily decided to step down from the executive board and served as First Vice President in the central region of the United States with Cambridge. On February 1, 2022, he decided to retire from Cambridge entirely and joined Independent Financial Professionals as a Senior Vice President of Business Development. Selberg's industry background includes tenure as a Marketing Vice President with Principal Financial Group, and he also served as Vice Chairman of LIMRA's Financial Services Committee. He earned an MBA with a focus in marketing from the University of Northern Iowa. Selberg is a CFP® professional and perviously earned FINRA Series 6, 63, 7, and 24 licenses, as well as the ChFC® and CLU® designations. During his tenure with Cambridge, Kyle has worked and collaborated with IFP and has attended several of our events. He knows the Cambridge culture and system extremely well and besides his extraordinary knowledge of the industry and Cambridge, he is an overall nice guy and a great friend, and we welcome him now as an IFP teammate. Tim O'Brien - COO

Tim O'Brien joined IFP in June of 2016 as both an OSJ designee to Dan Harriman and as the Director of Operations to help with supervision, administration, and strategic planning for the company. Tim moved to the Austin area in 1985 to attend The University of Texas, fell in love with central Texas and never left. After getting his degree in Liberal Arts, he worked in the hospital industry as a direct patient care giver, and as an administrator. He first got started in financial services in 1998 and then left to pursue a career with a marketing firm that specializes in co-op advertising, point of sale incentive programs, as well as reporting and analytics for several Fortune 500 companies. Returning to the financial services industry, Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from across several industries, and is always excited to learn and grow as IFP grows. What he enjoys most is his day to day interactions with our advisors and staff, helping them to succeed. Tim holds a Series 7 general securities license and a Series 24 Registered Principal license. He lives in Round Rock, Texas with his wife Lili. They have two adult children, Kevin and Katie.

Tracy Emmert

Tracey joined our team in November of 2019. She has a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Texas State University. She has worked in sales, customer service, and marketing for the last 20-plus years. Tracey lives in Cedar Park, TX with her two daughters, Avery and Logan. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
