In the course of serving the Lititz community, the Hershey & Gibbel local insurance agency has developed into a professional, full service, independent insurance office. In 1993 the Hershey & Gibbel partnership was dissolved and Gibbel Insurance Agency, Inc was formed. Our leadership today is comprised of Jim Gibbel and his son Ethan Gibbel. Jim has been a managing partner at Gibbel Insurance since 1963. Ethan represents the fourth generation of the agency and our intent to remain locally owned and locally committed to our insured's and communities for generations to come... The Gibbel Insurance Agency, Inc. has its roots in Lancaster County, specifically the Lititz area. In 1890, the directors of Lititz Mutual Insurance Company called upon Henry R. Gibbel and John W.G. Hershey to lead the young Lancaster area insurance company. The relationship between Lititz Mutual Insurance Company and Hershey & Gibbel flourished.
