LEDGER PODIATRY

I first became interested in Podiatric Medicine while working in Intensive Care as a registered nurse. I saw how foot pathology could affect the whole body and slow down rehabilitation. I could see how not being able to walk pain free due to foot pathology could lead to other health problems like weight gain, muscle weakness or knee back or hip injury. This in turn can affect our mental health and over all health. I became interested in the concept of balance and movement and how the feet and lower limbs consist of a complicated system of movement and function that can be interrupted through injury... I graduated with Distinction from the University of Newcastle obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Health Science (Podiatry) in 2012.
