MISF is a local renewable energy project developed by a local team for our community. When completed, the solar farm, consisting of 67,000 solar panels, will be capable of supplying 19.2 MW of electricity to the system for use by customers. MISF is a homegrown project being developed with the local community in mind. We are a renewable energy project that takes carbon out of the air; reduces harmful particulate matter that is linked to asthma, cancer, lung and heart disease; reduces our dependency on fossil fuels; and creates a sustainable green economy that encourages smart growth on Long Island. In the long run, we want to help local communities and businesses reduce their energy bills with renewable energy projects like this one and contribute to a thriving renewable energy industry on Long Island.
