I was born in Jerusalem. My father was a diplomat working for the United Nations and my mother was a school teacher. Due to my father's career, my family moved quite frequently. I spent my teen years in Kingston, Jamaica until I turned 16 and my father was permanently stationed in New York City... I enrolled in Traphagen School of Fashion, where I took intense courses in draping and pattern making. Upon graduating, I got an internship with Geoffrey Beene, working under the house's head designer Alber Elbaz. Days were spent at Beene's flagship store on Fifth Avenue, while nights were spent partaking in the very exiting club life of the early nineties. The first person to ever buy my clothes was Patricia Field, and wherever she and her crew went, I followed.
