Pinus Sawmills is locally owned and run and has been for 4 generations, so you can be assured that by supporting us you are supporting the local community. Our aim is to provide customers with quality products at great prices with good old fashion service and expertise... In 1947 Jock and Ida Reid moved their family to Canberra. Jock established Pinus Timbermills in 1947 at the Causeway near the Kingston Railway Station. Several years later Pinus Timbermills moved to the industrial estate in Whyalla St Fyshwick. In 1963 Pinus Timbermills officially became Pinus Sawmills Pty Ltd. Jock's son, Donald, became a part of the team and began to modernise the company with new equipment and machinery. The company moved to larger premises in the Queanbeyan industrial estate in the mid 70's. After Jock's passing in 1978, Don took over the running of the company. During the mid 1990's, timber was no longer milled on the premises but was purchased in, ready to sell. Donald's Son Doug came on board..
