SANTA MARIA VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

During the Golden Anniversary celebration of the Incorporation of the City of Santa Maria, the Santa Maria Valley Historical society was organized, chartered, and incorporated on September 7, 1955 as a non-profit organization. At present, it has a membership of about 500 persons. The original chartered members of the Society were those who lived in the Valley. Today's membership is not restricted, but open to any person interested in the Valley and California history... The mission of the Santa Maria Valley Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and present the history of the peoples of the Santa Maria Valley.
