SCPA was established in 1996, at a time when the average consumer didn't know they were using recycled paper processed using harmful chemicals that can cause adverse health problems to their family. My background in paper me with the knowledge that what consumers needed were 100% virgin fibers, because these stronger fibers do not become lint which can cause allergies. I also sourced raw materials that had no artificial whiteners and no elemental chlorine as these were banned in other countries, but the products sold to Filipinos still contained these... At SCPA, these words are integral to the work we do. With a clear understanding of the company vision and mission, SCPA employees are empowered and entrusted with meaningful work that drive both corporate and personal growth... I believe we made them realize that they can demand more from their tissue products. It needed to be hygienic, not just soft and cheap. I fought the allure of providing a "good enough" product to the Filipino..
