Adrian Hambleton

Adrian Hambleton is a lawyer at Senet and was admitted as an Australian Lawyer in September 2022. He joined Senet to support clients navigate the complex legal and regulatory process across all sectors of the gambling industry. He possesses strong attention to detail and the practical legal training to solve complex issues within the Australian legal system. During his time at university, Adrian received strong academic grades and developed a keen interest for studying domestic and international legislation. Adrian completed his legal internship at a community-based law firm and was tasked with an array of complex tenancy and consumer law matters. Adrian completed a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) at Victoria University and was awarded the Golden Key International Honour Society award for outstanding academic excellence for the top 15% of university students.

Alexander Norrish

Alexander Norrish is a lawyer at Senet and advises clients across all sectors of the gambling industry. He plays a key role in developing and fostering a compliance driven culture for both domestic and international clients in addition to assisting clients grapple with oftentimes complex regulatory requirements. Alexander possesses an excellent attention to detail, an ability to work calmly under pressure, and a strong propensity for legal research. He enjoys grappling with complex issues with a forward-thinking mindset. Prior to commencing with Senet, Alexander worked as a member of the Solicitors Assisting the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants (Lawyer X). This work involved navigating numerous complex legal and practical issues, oftentimes under severe time pressures. He has also undertaken a placement at the Supreme Court and has held some numerous other legal research and project management positions. He completed a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and Bachelor of Arts at Monash University.

Bree Ryan

Bree is a Senior Associate at Senet and supports Julian and Daniel in leading the Legal practice. Bree brings significant experience in the gambling and regulatory industry having held senior legal roles at two of Australia's largest gambling operators, Tabcorp and Sportsbet. As Deputy General Counsel Wagering and Media at Tabcorp, Bree advised on complex and critical strategic matters including the integration of two ASX listed entities, significant regulatory investigations and compliance and responsible gambling initiatives. Prior to working in-house, Bree commenced her career with top tier law firm Minter Ellison where she advised on a broad range of multi-faceted commercial, regulatory and compliance issues for large Australian and multinational wagering organisations working both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Bree's strong understanding of the wagering industry enables her to deliver commercially focused advice while appropriately managing risk. Bree holds a Bachelor degree in Law (Honours) from La Trobe University and Applied Science (Sports Coaching and Administration) from Deakin University and she achieved Honours in Gambling Law from Melbourne University. In 2020, she was recognised by Australasian Lawyer as an In-house Counsel Leader of 2020.

Brett Lewis

Brett Lewis is a specialist trade mark lawyer. He is highly experienced in all aspects of trade mark law and practice and was a partner in Australia's leading trade mark team for 20 years. Brett has worked with clients offering products and services in diverse industries including gambling and gaming, clothing, luxury goods, perfumery, cosmetics, skin care, food, alcohol, software, electronic and electrical products, video games, pharmaceuticals and automobiles. Brett has been an active member of INTA (International Trade Mark Association,) PTMG (Pharmaceutical Trade Mark Group), Marques, CITMA (Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, UK) and other organisations and has presented papers at a number of international trade mark law conferences. He has also ranked highly in various awards, listings and nominations in the legal and trade mark professional services sectors.

Daniel Lovecek

Daniel is a Principal at Senet and together with Julian, leads the Legal practice. He has extensive wagering and media experience having worked for 12 years in senior roles at Australia's largest wagering operator, Tabcorp. As divisional General Counsel and while managing the regulatory portfolio for the division, Dan advised the Board, senior executives and management on a range of regulatory, corporate, commercial and compliance matters, including in relation to the complex $11 billion merger of the Tabcorp and Tatts groups in 2017 to become one of the world's largest entertainment groups and on numerous licensing and other strategic projects in Australia and internationally. Prior to Tabcorp, he was a solicitor for five years with top tier law firm Herbert Smith Freehills in the Corporate team advising ASX-listed and other clients. Dan has a deep interest in the sector and enjoys building stakeholder relationships and applying strong legal and commercial acumen and insight to solve problems and create meaningful value. Daniel holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and Bachelor degrees in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and Law (with first class honours) from The University of Sydney. Dan also has post-graduate qualifications in Finance and has undertaken leadership training at Harvard University. He is also a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors.

Julian Hoskins

Julian is a Principal at Senet and leads the Legal practice together with Daniel Lovecek. He is one of the most experienced lawyers in Australia specialising in gambling law and regulation and is ranked by Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific as a leading expert in gambling and gaming. Julian was also recognised by Legal500 in the GC Powerlist: Australian and New Zealand as one of the Top 100 General Counsel for Australia and New Zealand. Julian has held senior positions in Top-Tier law firms in Australia, Jersey (Channel Islands) and Europe, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets, predominantly acting for highly regulated clients including those in the gambling sector, some of the world's leading banks, non-bank financial institutions, corporates and insurers. Whilst working with King and Wood Mallesons upon return from Jersey, Julian was engaged on a 3 month secondment to Tabcorp, being one of the world's largest gambling and entertainment companies. Julian was soon approached and appointed as General Counsel of Tabcorp and for a period of almost 10 years held various General Counsel roles within Tabcorp, including reporting to the Board and leading a team of around 50 people. Julian holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors.

Kieran Goodall

Kieran is a Senior Associate at Senet and a specialist problem solver. His hallmark has become giving clients the ability to navigate through complex legal and factual issues with confidence and knowledge of the risks. Working as an advocate, strategist and adviser, Kieran understands the importance of weaving the strands of strategy and law to deliver outstanding results for clients in the gambling industry. Prior to joining Senet, Kieran worked at a top tier law firm specialising in complex litigation and disputes as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings. He acted on behalf of both private and Government clients in all Victorian and federal jurisdictions including in a number of high-profile enforcement proceedings for Australia's corporate and consumer regulators. This work has enabled Kieran to bring unique strategic and commercial perspectives to all his matters as well as a calming influence in the face of difficult challenges. Kieran holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Bond University. He is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZLSA) and has advised a number of aspiring athletes based in the Asia-Pacific region.
