Dr. David N. Buchalter

Dr. David N. Buchalter is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who trained at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, one of the largest and most prestigious orthopedic training hospitals in the United States. After completion of his residency, he did specialized fellowship training in joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and trauma surgery. He spent time studying throughout Europe and was involved in some of the early research on cartilage transplant and cartilage regeneration procedures. Dr. Buchalter has performed well over 3,000 total hip and total knee replacements and is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Less than 5% of orthopedic surgeons in the country are members of this society, which includes physicians who specialize in total hip replacements and total knee replacements. He is one of the few surgeons performing less invasive hip and knee replacement surgeries, allowing for a small three- to four-inch incision, less pain, and faster recovery time. He performs the direct anterior approach for total hip replacement using the Hana Table at both Delray Medical Center and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Buchalter has been using multimodality pain management protocols, which accelerate recovery and minimize post-operative pain after hip and knee replacement surgery. He strongly believes in the philosophy of combining cutting-edge techniques with well-established prosthetic components. This allows patients to have the fastest recoveries while being assured that the components that are implanted have a proven track record. Dr. Buchalter has been in practice in South Florida since 1991, where he has been active in the medical community. He is former Chief of Surgery at Delray Medical Center and has been the chairman of numerous hospital-based committees. For six years, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delray Medical Center. Dr. Buchalter and his family reside in Boca Raton, Florida.

Dr. Russell D. Weisz

Dr. Russell D. Weisz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He attended medical school at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the national honor society AOA. Dr. Weisz completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the New York University-Hospital for Joint Diseases, publishing papers and giving national presentations on fracture treatment and joint replacement surgery. He then completed a one-year fellowship in orthopedic traumatology with specialized training in the treatment of complex fractures; infections involving bone, foot, and ankle trauma; and non-healed fractures. Dr. Weisz has been with South Palm Orthopedics since 2002 and is credentialed at Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center.

Dr. Steve E. Meadows

Dr. Steve E. Meadows is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. After completing his internship in general surgery at the North Shore University Hospital of Cornell University, Dr. Meadows performed his orthopedic residency training at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute, where he served as chief resident for his final year of training. He then received fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Hand Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, which is renowned for its pioneering efforts in tendon surgery and techniques of hand rehabilitation. Dr. Meadows is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is also a member of the Florida Medical Association and Palm Beach County Medical Association. Dr. Meadows has been in private practice of orthopedic surgery since 1992. He practices general orthopedic surgery with a subspecialty interest in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand problems. He performs numerous shoulder surgeries per year, including rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, and fracture repair.

John Feldman

John Feldman, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who trained at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN. Following residency, Dr. Feldman completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Andrew's Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Birmingham, AL, one of the premier sports medicine institutes in the world. Dr. Feldman grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio where he was a member of the men's lacrosse team. He completed medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Feldman's clinical interests include treating injuries to the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, specializing in arthroscopic procedures and sports medicine procedures. He also has an interest in knee replacement surgery including robotic assisted knee replacement and partial knee replacement. He has extensive experience in treating athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional level. He was the team physician for the University of West Alabama football team, helped treat athletes from the University of Alabama, and has covered collegiate as well as minor league baseball including the AAA Memphis Redbirds and AA Birmingham Barons. Dr. Feldman is a member of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Association of North America.
