SPORTING MARYLAND FUTSAL CLUB

Sporting Maryland Futsal Club was established in 1999 in the Southern area of Maryland and was originally founded as Southern Maryland Futsal Club (SMFC). SMFC has been at the forefront of the Futsal evolution in the U.S. and was one of the first Futsal clubs created in the United States. Initially, the Men's team was the focus but shortly after their early success and innovation, the founding of SMFC Academy was added and became a strong identity of the Club... Throughout the pandemic, massive challenges were presented to the indoor sport but Sporting made the adjustment and created a street futsal program to offer the communities youth throughout the winter of 2020/21. Through futsal, this allowed the technical development of our players to continue in a safe environment at a very difficult time. Finally, as the summer of 2021 brought a return to the indoor court for the majority of the futsal community with national events, SMFC returned stronger than ever with a return to the..
