In 1953, Dan Mitchell relocated from Sherman, Texas to Columbus, Georgia with the idea of building a full service fence company. He worked for the next 10 years with local fence companies and in 1963, Dan teamed with Bryan Pennell and opened United Fence Company. As shown in the photo below, it was originally located on Talbotton Road in Columbus.
