NICA - Key Persons
Angela Brooks has been riding bikes since childhood and began sharing her love of biking with kids in 1996. Many people know her as a mountain bike coach instructor throughout the state and the GRiT Coordinator and Rover Director at the NICA races but now Angela has transitioned to the full time role of Program Manager. Her 3 daughters all raced NICA and she and her husband continue to coach for the SLS MTB team. Her passion for biking and years of experience managing a variety of businesses, along with her master's degree in education and experience as a public school teacher, will embolden her in her role as the Program Manager for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League. Angela is quick on her feet, enthusiastic about NICA and has a wealth of knowledge about biking. She is energized to work with the League staff and volunteers to make each race run smoothly and be super fun!

Don Edberg is the Director of the Wisconsin Off Road Series (WORS), the America's largest state mountain racing series. Don has been riding and racing mountain bikes since 1982 and was a competitive alpine ski racer before that. He has directed over 240 mountain bike races and has extensive experience with mountain bike trail development as a designer and builder. Actively involved in USA Cycling, Don is a licensed race director, coach, official and racer. He has sat on the board of NORBA and USA Cycling and currently holds the UCI race director position on USA Cycling's Mountain Bike Sport Committee. Don coaches a local high school team and is very passionate about mountain biking. He believes firmly that participation in the sport of mountain biking will enrich the lives of young riders and those that support them.
A long-time bike commuter in Milwaukee, Renee Griswold found mountain biking in 2018 when her oldest son joined NICA. Working her way up the coaching ladder and into the League Director role, Renee loves seeing the positive impact riding mountain bikes has on student athletes, and often their families. From the dance education world, Renee brings to the League non-profit expertise, extraordinary organizational skills and a passion for leading kids into adulthood with a strong foundation of character and developed life skills..
