Dr. Cynthia Macri

Dr. Macri brings over 35 years of experience as a U.S. Navy Medical Officer, board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology to the EagleForce Foundation team. She serves to advise and lead the team on matters of public health importance and medical practice. In addition to her previous work in Women's healthcare and cancer prevention and management, her expertise focused on strategies to improve population health, disease prevention, cultural competency, minority health, health/educational/economic disparities, and creating healthy communities. She is a volunteer attending physician in two free clinics that serve under-served populations and sits on the Board of a number of Health services and veteran-related non-profit organizations.

Dr. Daniel J. Valaik

Job Titles:

Dr. Valaik specializes in joint preservation surgeries of the hip and knee as well as total joint replacement, including total hip and total knee replacement surgeries. He is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Valaik served for 26 years in the U.S. Navy. His last position in the military was serving as the chief of the Orthopedic Service at Walter Reed and the National Naval Medical Center. He is a past president of the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, and is a member the Orthopedic Trauma Association and the Society of Medical Consultants to the Armed Forces. He is also an American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Fellow.

Dr. Philip Corcoran

Dr. Corcoran is a surgeon at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. He specializes in cardiovascular surgery and thoracic surgery. He practices at the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Clinic at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and his surgery residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington. He is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery. He has been recognized as one of the area's "Top Doctors" in cardiovascular surgery and thoracic surgery by Washingtonian magazine.

Dr. Sinthi Acey

Dr. Acey is a Maryland-licensed pharmacist and Navy veteran, bringing diverse experience in pharmacy operations and services, space and electronic warfare, intelligence, and information technology. Dr. Acey has led multiple team projects in healthcare and Department of Defense environments. She is engaged in defining the overall business strategy and direction of the organization related to its pharmacy and medical based approaches. She leads the overall pharmacy and adherence vision for the organization and provides expert pharmacy transaction and operational direction. Dr. Acey's responsibilities also include the strategy, development, and implementation of innovative technology focused on delivering precision health clinical programs, predictive analytics, and population health innovations as well as collaboration with the foundation and other strategic business partners.

Mr. Christopher Cresswell

Mr. Cresswell has played instrumental roles in driving innovation across both the commercial and clinical verticals within the healthcare sector for nearly two decades. He is a nationally recognized entrepreneur with a plethora of successful start-ups including AdherenceRx, New Enterprise Ventures, US Wellness, and the National Wellness Foundation He also served as General Manager of Patient Innovations for both Dr. First and United BioSource Corporation, now ExpressScripts. He has supported many healthcare technology companies as well as defined new business models, channels, and revenue streams through the formation of strategic partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions both domestically and internationally.

Mr. David E Gross

Mr. Gross has over 30 years of aviation experience in both the military and civilian sectors. He is a retired Air Force officer with 29 years of service and has held numerous command and staff positions. He has extensive experience in military planning, programming and budget development and has served on the senior air staff of the US Air Force and the National Guard. He was the Advisor to the Secretary of the AF Director of Legislative Liaison where he interfaced with senior OSD leadership, congressional and gubernatorial staffs, Senators and Congressmen to discuss a wide variety of military issues. He is a seasoned combat veteran with over 3,000 hours and more than 100 combat missions flying the F-16, A-10 and F-4G Wild Weasel. His awards include Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medals, Aerial Achievement Medals, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, and the Kosovo Campaign Medal. He has been employed by American Airlines since 2000 and holds type ratings in the B-727 and B-767. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Webster University. David brings a wealth of operational experience in aviation, legislative liaison, congressional engagement, and the military planning and budget process.

Mr. James A. Smith Jr.

Mr. Smith has been involved in aviation for over 45 years. He has a Master of Science Degree from the University of Southern California in Systems Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology. James had a 25-year career in the United States Marine Corps flying the AH-1 Cobra aircraft and served as the Squadron Commander for Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773. He also flew over 35 combat missions in support of Operation Desert Storm. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Combat Action Medal as well as the Kuwait Liberation Medal.James has been employed by United Airlines since 1992. He holds type ratings in the B-777, B-767, B-757, B-737 and the Airbus 320. He also held the position of Assistant Chief Pilot at the Washington, DC pilot base and also as the Flight Operations Duty Manager at the Willis Tower in Chicago. James brings a wealth of aviation operational and management experience to the EagleForce team.

Mr. Jeffrey S. Gray

Mr. Gray comes to EagleForce with over 25 years experience in the education and defense sectors. In the education sector, he worked for Chicago Public Schools and Archdiocese of Chicago as a senior school administrator-both at the district and school level. He was responsible for the supervision of numerous high-profile educational programs for the school district, such as, director of Selective Enrollment High Schools and Military Academies admissions; Gifted, Talented, and Enriched Programs; high school sports and marching band grant worth $6 million; City of Chicago's Principal for a Day Program; Title IX compliance; and team member for school closings and openings. In the defense sector, he transitioned periodically between active and reserve status as a Navy reserve public affairs officer. He created and managed the Chief of Naval Personnel's Navy City Outreach Program. The program is a national outreach program that engaged and connected senior Navy leaders with youth, educators, civic and business leaders, and local elected officials in five large urban centers. Mr. Gray has also served as a public affairs officer in Afghanistan at NATO's International Security Assistance Force, in Kabul.Mr. Gray holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago. In addition, he is professionally affiliated with: Chicago Navy Memorial at Navy Pier project, Illinois Secretary of State's Veteran's Advisory Council, Board member for the Hyman G. Rickover Naval Academy, and Board secretary for the Sue Duncan Children's Center.

Mr. John Bushey

Mr. Bushey is the Program Director for EagleForce Warrior Foundation. He manages the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and development of future strategy for sustainability and partnerships. He comes to the Foundation after a 29 year Navy career, where his last active duty assignment was Director of the Navy Wounded Warrior program. His operational experience included assignments such as maintenance quality assurance, flight instructor and standardization, aircraft carrier navigator and commanding officer of a helicopter squadron and an overseas installation. His staff assignments were with Chief of Naval Education and Training, the Joint Staff, and Navy Installations Command. He was recognized as the Squadron Officer of the Year for 2001, Wing Officer of the Year for 2004, Navy League leadership award recipient for 2012, and recognized as having the most improved squadron for 2009 and 2010. Mr. Bushey earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in History at Iowa State University.

Mr. Samuel Washington

Mr. Washington has over 25 years of experience managing programs and projects in Department of Defense and the civilian sector. He is a retired Air Force Officer, and has held positions as Acquisition/Contracting Officer, Chief Information Officer, Deputy Chief Technology Officer, Medical Logistician, and Readiness Officer. Mr. Washington has also held positions in the civilian sector, as Chief Information Officer, and he has been a business owner and consultant, assisting business entities with capture management, business development, and Health IT consultative services. Along with being a licensed aircraft pilot, he has a BS in Aviation/Aeronautical Science, MS in Computer and Information Science, and MS in Information Management, as well as the following certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management Systems (CPHIMS), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Mr. Washington was also awarded the CIO Certificate in Federal Executive Competencies, the DoD Chief Information Officer Certificate, the Committee on National Security Systems Information Assurance Certificate, and the National Defense University Advanced Management Program Diploma.
