Dr Cath Newman is a longstanding GP with a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine. She completed a Masters Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine at the University of Queensland in 2013 and has undertaken further dermatoscopy and surgical training. She is accredited with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia
Originally from South Africa, Cath moved to the area in 1995 and has worked as a local GP for many years.
She is also a GP Registrar Supervisor with GP Synergy and does clinical teaching visits in the region.

Dr Cath Newman engages the support of the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (ACRRM) Telederm service - Dr Jim Muir & Dr Rachael Foster - Dermatologists - & Dr Dan Kennedy -Plastic Surgeon - who offer an online dermatology advice service to rural GPs which involves sharing photographs of particular lesions online and providing feedback and advice.
Jackie has a Bachelor of Nursing from Newcastle University, a Post graduate certificate in Peri-operative nursing & the Womens Health certificate from Family Planning Australia. She is currently completing a Bachelor degree in Clinical Aesthetics with the Australian College of Health & Wellness.
Jackie assists Cath with surgical procedures and supports the clinic by offering a number of skin repair treatments including medical grade peels and medical microneedling. She is involved intreatments for particular skin conditions including acne.She is also trained in manual lymphatic drainage and offers this service to the community.
