Dr. Adam S. Friend

Dr. Adam S. Friend joined the practice in 1998 and became the surgeon for Eye Care Associates of New Jersey. Whether in the operating room or the office, he enjoys the camaraderie of his patients and co-workers. He loves the many technologic advances in the field of ophthalmology and attends courses around the country in order to bring those techniques to his patients.

Dr. James Kirszrot

James Kirszrot, M.D. is an oculoplastics specialist who joined Eye Care Associates of New Jersey in June 2011. His areas of expertise involve medical and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the eyelids, the lacrimal (tear duct) system, and the orbit (eye socket). This includes eyelid position defects, ptosis (lid droop), and growths and cancers around the eye. Dr. Kirszrot also specializes in cosmetic eyelid surgery and has extensive experience performing blepharoplasty surgery ("eyelid lifts"), midface lifts, surgery to remove "lower lid bags", as well as using Botox and fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm to treat facial wrinkles. Dr. Kirszrot completed his undergraduate training at Cornell University and received his M.D. degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2001. After completing his residency in ophthalmology at New York Presbyterian Hospital- Cornell Medical Center, he moved to Boston to complete a two-year highly specialized fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School. Subsequently, he remained at Harvard as a clinical instructor, teaching residents and medical students surgical techniques of oculofacial surgery. After several years, Dr. Kirszrot decided to return to his hometown of New York City. Dr. Kirszrot has authored numerous journal publications and textbook chapters related to the field of oculofacial surgery. In addition, he has lectured on this topic at national meetings. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. During his free time, he enjoys skiing, SCUBA diving, and spending time with his wife Emily and son David.

Glenn R. Silbert

Glenn R. Silbert, M.D., joined the practice in 2020. Dr. Silbert was practicing in Hackensack for many years and we welcome him to our family. After graduating from Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science, Glenn then attended the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He interned at the Beth Israel Medical Center before completing his ophthalmology residency at the New York University Medical Center .He is Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Silbert is an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Carl Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an Associate Clinical Director at the Comprehensive Eye Service at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association. He has been a recipient since 2001 of the New York Metro Area Top Doctor Award Selected by Castle Connolly, Ltd.; in 2005 he received the Certificate of Appreciation for Dedication and Leadership presented by the Ophthalmology Residents, Class of 2005 from The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 2008, 2012, and 2013 he received the Resident's Teaching Award for excellence in teaching, presented by the Ophthalmology Residents. In 2015 he received The John S. Herman Memorial Teaching award for excellence in teaching and resident education as well. Dr. Silbert enjoys sports of all kinds including golf and tennis. He is an avid reader and enjoys the world of wine.
