- Medicare Specialist & Commercial Lines Account Representative
Barb joined the IBA team in September of 2017. She supports the producers and account managers in commercial lines. In 2023 Barb enhanced her insurance portfolio and became our Medicare Specialist. She can now help you with any of your Medicare needs.
Outside of work, Barb enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. When she isn't cheering on her boys at soccer and baseball games, she loves testing her trivia skills, going to concerts and traveling.
Bob started his insurance career as a claims adjuster, then moved to personal insurance underwriting for a short time, and for the past forty years has been on the agency side of the business.
Bob takes pride in the long term relationships he has developed over the years with his clients by providing them with competitive policies, placed with sound insurance companies, to protect their financial interests.
Away from the office Bob enjoys canoeing, exploring Missouri state parks, traveling with his wife and following his favorite college football team, the Oklahoma Sooners.
After spending 4 years working in marketing at a senior living community, Colleen came to IBA in February 2020. She enjoys connecting with clients and takes pride in sharing our mission of building relationships to meet our clients' unique needs.
When out of the office, she can be found on the golf course or spending time watching St. Louis sports with her husband and son.

Dan made his first foray into the insurance scene after ten years in the hospitality industry. Little did he know it would be the start of something beautiful. After several years at an independent agency, he moved to his dream city (Chicago) to work for a major insurance company. Fate brought him back to our fair city of STL and in 2005, he joined Independent Brokers Agency.
He is the master of the personal lines world and can lead any client through the complicated task of insuring your home, cars, boats, motorcycles, or any valuable item you own. He will also be the first to admit he is not a health insurance expert. As he states, "I will insure your flivver, but not your liver." **
When he is not in his career station, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, playing drums and collecting electronic musical instruments and miniature vehicles (i.e., Hot Wheels). If you come visit the office, you can see a piece of his collection!
Heather Wessels began her career at IBA in early grade school when she learned how to alphabetize files and has been part of the insurance world ever since!
After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis and trying her hand at many endeavors (including the successful launch of artisanal chocolate company Kakao), Heather realized that a career in the insurance industry combined her loves of high autonomy and high responsibility with her desire to solve problems, work toward solutions and protect business and people. She enjoys the challenge of working with her clients to tailor the best solutions for their risk management needs.
Outside of work, Heather spends her time hanging with her family (Mike who is also part of IBA and their daughter and son), cooking (she loves eating!), reading (she is far more introverted than usually suspected) and singing.
Joe is a life-long St. Louis resident. After attending St. Mary's High and Forest Park Junior College, he traveled north to the University of Iowa on a baseball scholarship.
Returning back to St. Louis he taught in various school districts for five years. Looking to start a family, he decided to give property and casualty insurance a try. After working as an agent with two direct-writing property and casualty companies for a year, he joined a small independent agency in South City. After five years as a minority partner, he started his own firm - Independent Brokers Agency.
Along the way he has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet and work with clients from many different professions and backgrounds - many of whom are now friends. Joe enjoys the opportunities and challenges that serving his clients brings. To him that makes the insurance industry just as exciting as it did in 1979.
