Allison Peters

Dr. Peters is originally from Stowe, Vermont. She received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University and graduated from their vet school in 2014 as a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society. She joined Lawndale Veterinary Hospital in 2021 and has enjoyed getting to know the team and the clients. Her areas of interest include dermatology, nutrition, dentistry, and internal medicine but she loves general practice because she gets to do a little bit of everything. Dr. Peters spends her time outside of work with her husband, Ken and their children Nate, Eleanor, and Annaliese. They have three cats, Molly, Huckabee, and Seamus. She is a terrier lover, especially Scotties. She enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and cooking as well as sewing clothes for herself and her family.

Carrie Jelovich

Jelovich was born in Syracuse, NY and attended undergraduate at North Carolina State University where she graduated with a BS in Biology in 1994. She received her degree in veterinary medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. After nine years of working in a small animal practice, she joined Lawndale Veterinary Hospital in October 2006. Since that time she has enjoyed meeting and taking care of so many of Lawndale's patients. Dr. Jelovich (who also goes by ‘Dr. J.') loves dogs, especially Schnauzers. She currently has a Schnauzer named Bucket and a mixed breed named Mop. Her main veterinary interests include dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. J's time is shared between practicing high quality medicine, her son, Cole, and her football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. She also enjoys reading, water skiing, watching football games, and spending time with her family.

Cassie Harris

Cassie Harris is Lawndale Veterinary Hospital's Practice Manager. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Cassie also lived in Syracuse, New York before settling in North Carolina to attend Western Carolina University and then the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Cassie has been with the Lawndale Veterinary Hospital team since 2003. She feels like Lawndale is a great fit for her because she has always been driven to work for a business that loves to help animals and strives to be a unified team. She has enjoyed watching the clinic grow and flourish. She especially loves getting to know the clients and building lasting client relationships. Cassie says the pet owner loyalty to our clinic makes it feel like we are one big Lawndale family. Cassie lives with her husband, Eddie, her amazing Jack Russell, Davis, and her sassy kitty, Poe. In her free time, Cassie enjoys being outside and active. Some of her favorite outdoor activities include kayaking, running, hiking, and gardening. If she's not outside, she can be found training for races at the gym, cooking, or reading a good book.

Karyn Waterman

Dr. Waterman is one of Lawndale Veterinary Hospital's practice owners. She received her degree in veterinary medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Her first experience working in the field of veterinary medicine actually came during high school, when she worked as a kennel attendant for Lawndale Veterinary Hospital. In 2003, Dr. Waterman returned to Lawndale, this time as a practicing veterinarian. In 2007, she and Dr. Crawford purchased the hospital from the previous owner. Since that time she has enjoyed developing long-lasting patient and client relationships. Dr. Waterman's veterinary interests include dermatology, feline practice and pain management, to name a few. Dr. Waterman also values being able to contribute back to the veterinary and local community. She is a member of the NCSU-College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Board of Directors, a volunteer with Urban Ministry, and the volunteer lead surgeon for the Feral Cat Assistance Program (FCAP) and Forgotten Felines of Forsyth (FFF). Dr. Waterman lives with her family, two cats, and two dogs in Oak Ridge. In her free time, she enjoys running, swimming, volunteering, and spending time with her family.

Kenny Crawford

Dr. Crawford is also one of the owners of Lawndale Veterinary Hospital. He graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1985 with a BA in Zoology. Dr. Crawford remains a big Carolina fan to this day! He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He is a member of Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Dr. Crawford began his commitment to Lawndale Veterinary Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in 1992. In 2007, he and Dr. Waterman purchased the hospital from the previous owner. Dr. Crawford has since developed many bonds and formed great relationships with so many of Lawndale's clients. Dr. Crawford has a variety of veterinary interests, some of which include ultrasound, exotic medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and reproductive medicine. Dr. Crawford is an active member of his church, and he spends his free time trail running, mountain biking, and kayaking. Dr. Crawford and his wife, Sonya, have two sons: Seth and Luke. They share their home with their dog, Huck. They enjoy hiking the Appalachian Trail and spending time with their grandkids, Cartland, Eleanor, and Davis.

Meg Conlon

Dr. Conlon is originally from upstate New York. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and then worked in government and corporate communications in Washington, DC, Canada and the Caribbean. After several years, she decided to return to school and attended Virginia Tech, obtaining her veterinary degree in 2004. She practiced mixed animal medicine and lived on a farm with her fainting goats for several years outside of Lexington, KY before joining Novartis Animal Health. At Novartis, she held multiple roles focused on educating veterinarians on heartworm prevention, dermatology and pain management. She has a passion for educating veterinarians, their medical teams, and most important, pet owners, on the value of diagnostics to more effectively identify the source of a pet's illness or to uncover problems earlier to ensure better management and a longer, healthier life. Dr. Conlon lives in Greensboro, just a few miles from the hospital, with her husband and daughter, along with a pug, Beckham, German Shephard mix, Scout, and voluptuous cat, Fern. They also have bees and plan to introduce chickens soon. She loves working at Lawndale because of the fantastic medical team that always puts the pet first and to spend time with so many wonderful pets and their parents. When not working, she loves to run and bicycle, see movies and read, eat the great meals her husband cooks and think of excuses to see her daughter at college.

Tricia Burnett

Dr. Burnett grew up in Atlanta, GA and attended college at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr. Burnett practiced small animal medicine in Greensboro for six years prior to joining Novartis Animal Health as a Technical Services Veterinarian. During her seven years with Novartis, Dr. Burnett continued to practice medicine as a relief veterinarian on weekends and volunteered at community outreach vaccine clinics. She has been a dedicated volunteer surgeon for Feral Cat Assistance Program (FCAP) since 2000. Dr. Burnett enjoys many aspects of general veterinary practice, including soft tissue surgery and dermatology. Dr. Burnett loves to travel and lived in Sydney, Australia for over a year. She enjoys tennis, quilting and making jewelry. She has two mixed breed dogs named Elby D and Squid.
