NAJIB ZOUEIN

Born and raised in Beirut, I took my first pictures at the age of 10 just few days after the end of Lebanon's civil war in 1990 during a family exploration visit with relatives who have returned to visit their village after many years, to assess the situation of their land and property... On that specific day, I remember feeling more scared of the reactions around me than I was scared of the aftermath of the war, and it was when an uncle threw away his camera in anger, that I felt the urge to pick it up and pretend to take pictures just to hide my terrified facial expressions.
