Swami Satyananda Saraswati was born in small town near Almora in the foothill of the Himalayas, As a child he showed extraordinary qualities and his first spiritual experience at the age of six. He was blessed by many saints and sadhu who passed by his home. At the age of nineteen he met his spirtual master Swami Sivananda who intiated him into the Paramahansa tradition of sannyas. In 1963 he founded the International Yoga Fellowship Movement, Since then, Swami Satyananda has well-known on every continent.
