I have a passion for working with young people and with teenagers in particular as I have worked with them for my entire working life. After studying teaching and Psychology, I began my career at Constantia School for Girls, a girls' reformatory in Tokai. Here I was able to learn and to understand, first hand, how to deal with serious behavioural and emotional challenges. I have also worked at Hottentots-Holland High School and at Parel Vallei High School as a school counsellor and teacher, specialising in the teaching of life skills... In 2003 I studied remedial teaching in order to understand how to support learners with learning barriers. However, I have always been fascinated with Psychology, human behaviour and the resilience of the human spirit and I qualified as a psychologist in 2007. Since then, I have lectured in Developmental Psychology at Helderberg College, conducted workshops in study methods, time management and career development. I have also done diversion programmes..
