Alex Elliott

Alex Elliott is a legal assistant in our highly successful clinical negligence team. Alex Elliott is a legal assistant in the Clinical Negligence team at Taylor&Emmet. Alex has worked for a number of local Solicitors since 1989 and has worked as a legal secretary specialising in clinical negligence matters since 1997, working initially for Solicitors for the NHSLA until she joined the Claimant Personal Injury team at Taylor & Emmet in 2002. When Taylor & Emmet established their Clinical Negligence department in 2004, Alex worked for the Head of Department providing secretarial and administrative support, and has remained in this role until her recently being created a Legal Assistant due to her many years' experience in this area of law. When she is not at work, Alex is a busy mum of young, twin daughters so has very little spare time to participate in any of her own recreational activities nowadays but she loves living in Derbyshire and relaxing with her husband and daughters in its beautiful countryside, whenever the weather allows.

Alex Watkinson

Alex joined Taylor&Emmet in 2015 after 14 years practising at a local Sheffield firm. He is a widely recognised expert in Inheritance, Will and Trust disputes and is one of only four solicitors in South Yorkshire who is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS). He is also heavily involved in the Northern Contentious Probate Solicitors Group. Alex has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience in this field and acted in the high profile cases of Kershaw v Micklethwaite and others [2010] EWHC506 (CH) - a leading case regarding the removal of Executors and the in case of Lilleyman v Lilleyman [2012] EWHC821 (CH) - a leading case on "short marriage, big money" Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. He is frequently appointed as replacement Personal Representative and Trustee in complex or disputed Trusts and Estates. In his spare time, Alex enjoys playing and watching a wide variety of sports, particularly football and cricket, expanding his vinyl LP collection and spending time with his family.

Amy Parsons

Amy is a trainee solicitor is in our highly successful Personal Injury team. Amy is a Trainee Solicitor in our Personal Injury team. She initially joined the team as a Legal Assistant in February 2018, working part-time whilst at university. Amy studied at the University of Sheffield between 2014 and 2020. She graduated with a First Class History BA (Hons), MA in Law with Distinction and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Distinction. Amy is the current Social Responsibility Representative of the Sheffield & District Junior Lawyers' Division. When not in the office, Amy enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, ice-skating, and exploring the Peak District.

Anna Pettinger

Anna Pettinger is a Chartered Legal Executive in our highly successful property litigation team. Anna qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2018 and has worked in our commercial litigation and property litigation team since. Anna graduated in Law with French Law and Language from Leicester University in 2012 and then completed her LPC at the University of Law in 2014. Anna worked for a large reputable national firm in their commercial litigation department before joining us. Anna has gained significant experience in the property litigation since joining us and deals with both commercial and residential property disputes including landlord and tenant dispute, boundary disputes, neighbour disputes and applications to the First Tier Property Tribunals.

Ben Brown

Ben joined Taylor&Emmet in January 2017 as a partner in our private client department. He brings with him over 16 years experience in dealing with private client matters and specialises in complex intestacy cases. He is the head of our specialist Inheritance Tracing team who work with the public and private sector in all matters relating to inheritance and asset tracing. Ben has acted on a number of cases concerning high value and complex intestacies with some involving multiple jurisdictions and declarations of presumed death. Ben also provides assistance to local authorities in getting empty homes back into use. Ben is a qualified trust and estate practitioner and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He is also an approved expert for will writing services for a number of charities, including MENCAP, the National Autistic Society and the RNIB. Outside of work Ben spends most of his free time with his young family, however you will occasionally find him on the golf course.

Beth Jenkins

Beth is a trainee solicitor is in our highly successful Family Law department. Beth is a Trainee Solicitor in the Family Department. Beth secured a Training Contract with Taylor&Emmet in 2018 and joined as a trainee in September 2019. Beth graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a First-Class Honours Law Degree in 2017. In 2019, Beth studied her Legal Practice Course at BBP in Leeds, achieving a distinction. Beth joined the Family Team in September 2020 and is due to qualify into the team in September 2021. When Beth is not at work, she enjoys travelling, keeping fit and spending time with her friends and family.

Bryony Shaw

Bryony Shaw is an associate solicitor in our highly successful commercial property team. Bryony joined Taylor&Emmet in May 2017, having previously worked at a Sheffield law firm where she dealt with property matters in the sale and purchase and leases of dental practices and in other healthcare transactions. Bryony is based in the Sheffield office and deals with the sale and purchase of commercial properties, leases and ancillary documents, re-financing, corporate support and rural transactions. Having completed a French Studies degree at the University of Birmingham, Bryony then went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma in Law at De Montfort University, Leicester and returned home to Sheffield to complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of Sheffield. Bryony trained at a Sheffield law firm where she qualified in 2008 but has had a break since then to have two children and also some time working at the University of Sheffield dealing with research contracts. Outside of work, Bryony enjoys running - particularly her favourite course, the Sheffield Half Marathon, swimming and rowing and also attempts baking and gardening.

Chaanah Patton

Chaanah Patton is a partner in our wills and probate department. Chaanah works in our private client department and specialises in the preparation of wills, administration of deceased estates, tax planning and trust advice. She also deals with Lasting Powers of Attorney and mental incapacity issues with the Office of the Public Guardian and provides elderly care advice. Chaanah was born in Sheffield, where she attended King Edward VII School. She read law at Cambridge and York and started working at Taylor&Emmet in 1997, after qualifying as a solicitor. She has also lectured in private client issues as part of the University of Sheffield's legal practice course. Chaanah is married with two children and lives in the Hope Valley. She is a keen runner and a member of Hallamshire Harriers Athletic Club and Dark Peak Fell Runners.

Charlotte Brown

Charlotte graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016 after completing a LLB Law Degree and started working at Taylor&Emmet in February 2018. Charlotte works in the Clinical Negligence department as a Paralegal. Charlotte manages her own case load of files and handle claims ranging from pressure sores and prescription errors to falls in care homes and surgical negligence. She is passionate about providing support to her clients as well as clear and empathetic legal advice. In her spare time when not working or studying, Charlotte enjoys socialising with friends, travelling and walking in the Peak District.

Clare Gorman

Clare studied at the University of Sheffield and BPP Law School in Leeds. After qualifying in 2014 at a local Sheffield firm, Clare joined Taylor&Emmet in 2017 as a Solicitor in our Private Client department. Clare deals with all aspects of private client work including Wills, Powers of Attorney, inheritance tax advice, trusts, probate and administration of estates. Outside of work Clare enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Clare Moore

Clare Moore is a Chartered Legal Executive in our highly successful employment law team. Clare Moore is a Chartered Legal Executive in the employment team at Taylor&Emmet. She joined Taylor&Emmet in 2020 from a law firm in Bradford, where she worked for 6 years and during this time she qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive. She acts for both employee and employer clients across a wide range of employment law issues, ranging from disciplinary and grievance procedures, Settlement Agreements, redundancies and restructures, whistleblowing, TUPE and Employment Tribunal proceedings. Clare graduated from the University of Sheffield before completing her Legal Practice Course and then qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive. When Clare is not at work, she spends a lot of time playing in a local brass band.

Corinna Lincoln

Corinna Lincoln is an associate solicitor in our highly successful clinical negligence team. Corinna is an associate solicitor in the clinical negligence department. Corinna joined the clinical negligence team in 2012 and completed her training at Taylor&Emmet. She has assisted on a wide range of matters representing clients who have suffered serious injuries or fatalities as a result of medical and surgical negligence. Her current caseload involves a number of complex cases including serious injury and she acts on behalf of a number of elderly and disabled individuals who have suffered neglect in residential care homes. Corinna studied Law at the University of Liverpool, Human Rights Law and Politics at the University of Manchester and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Sheffield. Corinna has a very client focussed and personable approach to all of her cases. She understands that approaching a solicitor in relation to medical treatment is a daunting experience. Most people will already have had a very difficult time before contacting us. Corinna considers her role is to help you obtain answers to the questions that you may have and to investigate thoroughly on your behalf. She encourages people to contact her in relation to any question or query you may have in relation to your case, at whatever stage. She is always very happy to talk through any concerns or questions you may have. When she is not in the office, Corinna also acts as Trustee for local Peak District based charity, Challenge Cancer Through Adventure. She can usually be found with a pair of climbing shoes, muddy running shoes or a mountain bike, somewhere below a Peak District crag.

Hannah Montague is a partner in our wills and probate department. Hannah jointed Taylor&Emmet in 2004 after gaining a first class degree in Law from the University of Leicester and post graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Sheffield. Hannah qualified as a Solicitor in the Wills and Probate department in 2006. Hannah was made a partner in 2020. Hannah is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Act Practitioners. Hannah specialises in the administration of deceased estates, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protections Applications and advising the elderly. Hannah is an active member of the Rotary Club of Bakewell, enjoys running, yoga, cake making and puts her qualifications as a swimming teacher to good use with two energetic young daughters. Hannah also enjoys watching Match of the Day. Hannah has worked in the administration of several multi million pound estates.
