ARK ANIMAL CARE - Key Persons
Amanda previously worked in veterinary medicine for five years before joining the Ark Animal Care team in the summer of 2015. She's passionate about helping owners take the very best care of their pets. Amanda enjoys tap dancing, caring for exotic animals, and spending time with friends and family. She shares her world with her husband and two sons, Aiden and Austin. She has four pets - a standard poodle named Chiquita and three cats - Zimba, Smokey, and Mittens. She also raises and shows purebred rabbits. Her family is rounded out with a small flock of chickens.
Carol and Dr. Sanders have worked together since 2005 and Carol has been part of Ark Animal Care from its founding in 2010. She is an avid gardener, happily married, a mother of five, and has one dog, Pokey and a two cats, Mike and Richard.

Kaitlyn graduated from Linn-Benton Community College's Veterinary Assistant program in April 2016 before joining Ark Animal Care a few months later. In her free time Kaitlyn loves volunteering with the Stayton Fire District support team, going to the coast, and spending time with her two cats, Frederick and Hank, and her two dogs - Gatsby (pictured here) and Sebastian.
Dr Sanders has two teen age kids whom make her proud every single day. She lives on a farm in Linn county where she has four horses: Tanner, Penny, Bugs, Maddie; two kitties: Butler and Echo; three dogs: Dinah, Stella and Jilly Bean; one miniature horse whom she acquired while in vet school named Domino; two miniature donkeys: Winston and Jethro; three goats: Snowy, Sugar and Sunshine; two cows: Elmo and Eleanore; and many chickens. Her outside interests include trail riding, reading and outside activities such as hiking and fishing.
While she enjoys all parts of veterinary medicine, she especially likes internal medicine, dentistry, senior care and nutrition.

From the time Melanie was very young she has been passionate about caring for animals of all species. She joined the Ark team in November 2016 to align her passion with her career.
Dr. Millner is originally from a small dairy farm in central Minnesota. It was on that farm where she fell in love with the animals around her and the dream of becoming a veterinarian began. Dr. Millner graduated from the University of Oregon in 1999 and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Minnesota in 2006.
Since graduating, Dr. Millner has had the privilege of working at several small animal practices. It is through the amazing experiences in private practice that she has developed a great appreciation and admiration for people, their pets and the relationships that surround the profession. It is often the challenge of meeting the needs of others as well as providing excellent client and patient care that fulfills her the most.
Dr. Millner has a specific interest in surgery but simply enjoys the flexibility and versatility of general practice and the challenges that each new day brings.
Dr. Millner shares her life with her amazing husband and two children. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and stays busy with her furniture refinishing business, Estrella Designs. Dr. Millner is glad to be back at Ark Animal Care!!
Tera is married with 6 kids, two dogs (Goose and Rip), and two cats (Sushi and Jack). She enjoys spending time with her family and is an expert at restoring old furniture.

Theresa Smith is a long time animal lover who is known by many in the community as the owner of D'-Tail Pet Grooming before retiring last year. Having been a long time client of the clinic she accepted a part-time position here at Ark to get her "pet fix" after going into withdrawals from a long career of working with them in her own business. She has two standard poodles, Diamond and Pearl and a Golden Retriever named Mr Wilson. She also has a naughty rabbit who goes by Boonay. Theresa is happily married and has a special place in her heart for Pugs.
