Christine Steffano

Christine Steffano, FNP, is an experienced, board-certified family nurse practitioner at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas. She specializes in holistic medicine. Christine is originally from San Antonio, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and a minor in cinema and television critical studies from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She moved to New York City and graduated from Pace University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. While receiving her nursing degree, Christine worked as part of an interdisciplinary team that cared for children with spinal muscular atrophy. She also worked as a surgical nurse at what is now NYU Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She studied a holistic approach to nursing and graduated cum laude from New York University as a family nurse practitioner and holistic nurse practitioner. Christine moved back to San Antonio several years ago to be closer to her family and joined the Arthritis Associates team. She enjoys caring for patients ages 12 and older with a nurturing bedside demeanor. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, exercise, meditation, and spending time with family, friends, and her three dogs. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Ellen Lima Lonsdale

Ellen Lima Lonsdale, APRN is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Ellen is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but has made Texas her home since 2008. Ellen speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Ellen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. After working in the Information Systems field for years, she had a calling to become a nurse so she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master's degree in Nursing Informatics, and a post-graduate degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Ellen has worked in the hospice and palliative care field as a nurse and a nurse practitioner for 15 years. She decided to join the team at Arthritis Associates after having a family member diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Ellen gets to know her patients and ensures that each patient receives excellent individualized care that focuses on patient's unique symptoms, medical history, and personal preferences. Ellen believes that patient participation is paramount in building an effective plan of care, thus she will take her time explaining each disease process, symptoms, and all treatments available, and with patient's input, will build a plan of care that is tailored to each patient's needs. In her free time, Ellen enjoys spending time with her family and kids, three young boys that can be very loud and rambunctious. She loves to go for long walks with family and her two dogs, watch movies, and find fun dessert places in San Antonio.

Gerald T. Rosenberg

Gerald Rosenberg, MD, is an experienced internal medicine specialist at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas. He's board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. Dr. Rosenberg is a St. Louis native. After completing his undergraduate degree at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Dr. Rosenberg received a Doctor of Medicine from St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri. He completed his internship and residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and finished his medical training with a fellowship in rheumatology at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He began his private practice as a rheumatologist in San Antonio at Arthritis Associates in the medical center. Dr. Rosenberg was involved in numerous clinical trials that led to many new therapies and medicines in use today. His patients know him as a caring, kind physician. Although the majority of his patients are adults, Dr. Rosenberg also cares for kids and teens ages 12 and older. He boasts a strong relationship with The Arthritis Foundation, promotes patient education, and advocates for their rights. Dr. Rosenberg enjoys helping his patients achieve less pain and a better quality of life. He welcomes them to Arthritis Associates.

Luis R. Zuniga-Montes

Luis Zuniga-Montes, MD, is an exceptional physician at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas. He is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. Dr. Zuniga-Montes earned his medical degree at the University of Caldas in Manizales, Columbia. He completed internal medicine and rheumatology fellowships at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York. Dr. Zuniga-Montes joined Arthritis Associates in 2011. Prior to that, he was an associate professor of rheumatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He also worked as a staff rheumatologist at the San Antonio Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital.
