Alessia Monastero

Alessia Monastero is an Associate Lawyer and Trademark Agent at Bhole IP Law. Her practice includes assisting clients with the protection, enforcement, and licensing of intellectual property rights, with an emphasis on trademarks. Alessia also helps clients commercialize their intellectual property by preparing, reviewing and advising on intellectual property and other commercial agreements. Alessia plays an active role in the legal community, holding executive positions with the Ontario Bar Association's Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law Section and Entertainment, Media and Communications Law Section. She also sits on the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada's Anti-Counterfeiting Committee and volunteers with the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network. Alessia is a frequent speaker and writer on brand protection issues relating to fashion and design, and was given the Barry D. Torno Award in 2018 and 2019 for her research in this area. She is an advisor with The Fashion Zone at the Toronto Metropolitan University, and holds a certificate in fashion law from the Fashion Law Institute at New York's Fordham Law School. Prior to completing her legal studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, Alessia studied marketing at the Schulich School of Business. Alessia combines her background in business with her knowledge of the law to help clients develop strategies to best protect their brands.

Ammar Kalanaki

Ammar is an IP paralegal and a Patent and Trademark Agent-in-Training at Bhole IP law. He has a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering and is a PgMP-certified program manager. He has a track record in New Product Development and software development. Ammar is currently on a career pivoting journey under the supervision of the Lawyers of Bhole IP Law. He assists clients with mining for potential IP, implementing IP-capturing best practices, preparing formal disclosures, and prosecuting applications. Prior to Bhole IP law, Ammar had worked in engineering rules and progressed to senior management rules in various sectors including IT, Telecom, Automotive, and Energy sectors. He has launched over 20 nationwide products and services, including 2 new-to-the-world platforms.

Anil Bhole - CEO, Founder

Anil Bhole is the founder and managing partner of Bhole IP Law. Anil is a lawyer, Canadian patent agent and trademark agent who is also qualified by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to file and prosecute U.S (United States). applications on behalf of Canadian applicants. Anil also has a bachelor's degree in computer engineering. Anil's client generally engage him for comprehensive IP strategy which comprises patent, trademark and design registration, transactional work, enforcement and value generation. Anil's philosophy is to first understand each client including their goals, motivations, and constraints, so that he can deliver IP solutions that provide meaningful value to each business.  Anil is sought by the majority of significant universities and health care institutions in Canada to strategize, prosecute, and commercialize intellectual property which, in many cases, lends itself to immediate commercialization through spin-offs.   Anil has developed numerous patent portfolios, primarily building them from the ground up. He has a particularly strong experience in the areas of cryptography, neural networks/machine learning, including foundational machine learning technologies as well applications including image processing, natural language processing, and analytics. Beyond these areas, his clients span the spectrum from consumer products and industrial suppliers to some of the most recognized software brands.  On the branding side, Anil has assisted clients to file, prosecute and ultimately enforce brand elements worldwide. He has been involved in trademark dispute resolution including through formal trademark oppositions and domain name resolution matters.  Anil's transactional practice spans both simple and complex IP transactions, including IP asset transactions, commercialization deals, and enterprise software license agreements. In these engagements, he tends to steer discussions toward realistic negotiation, concentrating on what really matters to his clients.  Anil is enthusiastic about assisting early-stage companies to develop IP strategies and pursue protection for key aspects of their technologies. He has also extensively assisted established companies to formulate best practices for managing their IP portfolios and leveraging IP assets.   Prior to founding Bhole IP Law, Anil practiced at an IP boutique law firm and a few national full service law firms in their IP groups. This experience has exposed Anil to a vast array of legal work, from patent and trade-mark prosecution and technology licensing to the IP issues raised in M&A and securities offerings. He has also worked in embedded software development prior to entering the legal profession.

Marc Lampert

Marc Lampert is a lawyer, Canadian patent agent and trademark agent who is also qualified by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to file and prosecute U.S. applications on behalf of Canadian applicants. Marc practice is focused on providing strategic legal advice in intellectual property, technology and product commercialization. Marc uses his expertise to help clients' ideas achieve viability in Canada. Marc has worked with companies and colleagues to prepare and prosecute their patent applications in Canada and the US (United States) in a wide range of arts, such as high-tech, electrical, computer, mechanical, and medical device related technologies. Marc is also involved with preparing trademark applications, industrial design applications, patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and opinions, infringement and validity opinions, and licensing and other commercial agreements. Marc strives to provide effectual and cost-effective services at a high-degree of quality.   Prior to joining the team at Bhole IP Law, Marc was as an associate at a boutique intellectual property firm and an associate in the Waterloo office of a national full-service law firm. Rahul Khattar

Rahul Khattar is an internationally trained patent agent and a lawyer with a decade of experience in assisting clients to identify and protect their intellectual property rights, particularly patents. Rahul is licensed to practice as a patent agent and a lawyer in India and holds an engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications. Rahul has extensive experience in preparing patent applications for filing before patent offices of various jurisdictions, including Canada, United States, India and Europe. At Bhole IP Law, Rahul uses his extensive international experience to undertake complex technical matters pertaining to a variety of technological areas including, but not limited to, electrical engineering, computer software (AI, Blockchain, Cloud Migration, etc.), mechanical engineering, oil and gas, biotech and textiles, and assisting clients in securing a patent in Canada and abroad. His practice largely includes counselling clients in analyzing patentability and securing patent protection internationally, assisting clients in developing an extensive patent portfolio, conducting patent searches, drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, identifying patent infringement and licensing. He is also responsible for providing consultation on trademark filing and prosecution, design registrations and prosecution, and other commercial agreements. Prior to joining Bhole IP Law, Rahul was a Senior Consultant (Intellectual Property) with India's premier full-service law firm, and patent associate with few of India's leading IP boutique firms. He has also worked as a network analyst for a leading multinational company before embarking on a legal career.
