Brazil has one of the largest leather-footwear production clusters, it gathers over 3,000 components manufacturers in several segments, such as: insoles, heels and soles, uppers, accessories, adhesives, leather and footwear chemicals industries, packaging, molds, lasts, supplies, synthetics, and textiles... Over the last three decades, the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal) has been directly involved in the efforts to expand the leather-footwear sector. Its work is recognized for the power and dialogue within all spheres of government, for the consolidation of the international market presence, and for the development of fashion research and fashion contents. The Association represents a sector that gathers 3,000 companies. Headquartered in Novo Hamburgo (RS), Assintecal has offices also in São João Batista (SC), Nova Serrana (MG), Birigui (SP), Franca (SP), and Jaú (SP).
