Lisa started her career in 1987 as an employment lawyer with Duke Power Company. Later, she became Duke's Director of Federal Governmental Affairs, advocating the company's policy positions on key energy issues with members of Congress and their staffs. In 1996, she returned to a legal role, handling commercial contracts for power marketing and nuclear generation and taking on responsibility for Duke's nuclear regulatory matters. In 2002, Lisa was tapped to lead the nuclear legal group at Duke Energy Corporation. In this role, she handled U.S. and international nuclear regulatory, commercial, and corporate issues and served as Secretary to the Nuclear Oversight Committee of Duke's Board of Directors.
