Anastasia Alex

Anastasia Alex, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery. She was born and raised in Cleveland, OH, and moved to Texas to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering at Rice University in Houston. She attended the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, OH where she graduated alongside her husband, AJ. She completed her internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI and ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, where she was awarded the Golden Bowtie Award for Humanism. She completed her pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, SC. Dr. Alex is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. In her spare time she enjoys trying new restaurants and playing games with her family and friends.

Everett A. Moody

Everett A. Moody, MD, is the 25th Pediatric Ophthalmologist trained in history. His pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at the Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C. was with Dr. Frank Costenbader and Dr. Marshall Parks. He also did a fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Moody is a member of the TMA, AMA, AAO, and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). He has practiced in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex since 1970 and has developed a practice devoted to Pediatric Ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in strabismus for all ages. Dr. Moody and his wife, Buzz, have 5 children and 11 grandchildren. His special interests include taking lay courses at the Dallas Theological Seminary and participating in several volunteer clinics..

Kartik Kumar

Kartik Kumar, MD, joins us after serving as the Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. Dr. Kumar graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington University in St. Louis, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry with a biochemistry concentration and Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology. He completed his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, serving as chief resident. Dr. Kumar pursued a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He spent 4 years as the Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Strabismus at UTHealth in Houston, where he was awarded the Dean's Teaching Award and selected as the Teacher of the year by the ophthalmology residents. Dr. Kumar has numerous publications and was noted to be one of Houston's magazines "Top Docs" in ophthalmology and is board certified in Ophthalmology. He performed strabismus surgery on Hazel from the TLC show OutDaugtered. Dr. Kumar's research interests include visual development, amblyopia, and the treatment of strabismus. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). He currently serves as Chair of the Young Ophthalmology Section of AAPOS. Dr. Kumar enjoys traveling, watching and playing sports, and spending time with his family in his spare time.
