Andrew Grant

Andrew has a B.A. and M.A. from Cambridge University and 25 years of experience with biomass power and conversion processes in power and plant engineering and plant contracting, paper mills, project development, consulting, and technology assessment. He has managed engineering and project groups. He is an expert on the design and performance of biomass facilities, including biomass boilers and gasifiers, and has provided environmental impact and cost studies for coal and biomass conversion technologies, performed due diligence studies of technologies of facilities, and advised major corporations in these areas.

Hugh McLaughlin

Hugh McLaughlin, PhD, PE has a professional consulting practice in Chemical Engineering. He is an expert on the properties and production of chars, created by pyrolyzing biomass, and the subsequent conversion to activated carbons. He is the inventor of the NextChar Machine. He has published extensively on biochar and biomass derived heat production, including co-authoring "All Biochars are not Created Equal and How to Tell them Apart" (2009) and "U.S. Focused Biochar Report: Assessment of Biochar's Benefits for the United States of America" (2010).

Stephan Rogers - CEO

Stephan Rogers has been the principal in multiple successful startup companies and provided business management services for over 25 years. Most recently, Stephan was a co-founder and CEO of Qteros, Inc, founded in 2007 and assisted in raising over $30 million in funding for the company. Stephan has also devoted a significant portion of his career to solving the problems for low income populations, working in areas of affordable housing and economic development. He helped with early models of the microcredit industry in the US. He also has significant large scale project management and strong financial management experience. Stephan holds a Master's Degree in International Management.
