Adam Comstock

Adam Comstock graduated from BYU-I in 2017 earning a BA in English Education and a Minor in TESOL and got his start working for RSL High School right after graduation and has been working and teaching here ever since. He was born in Provo, UT, but grew up and spent his childhood years in Fresno, CA. Throughout his life, he has enjoyed reading, writing, and developed a love of storytelling. He developed a love of teaching back when he was teaching English in Japan as an LDS Missionary (2013-2015). When he returned to the states, his desire to keep teaching pushed him from an EMT program to education. Adam's hobbies are scattered. He played rugby in high school and still enjoys the sport. He also enjoys board games, cards, hiking, camping, and learning new languages.

Angie Arambula

Angie loves working at Salt Lake Academy and is grateful to work at such an incredible school. She is originally from Nebraska but considers Utah her home. She grew up in Sandy and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Utah. She loves working with kids of all ages and has either been volunteering or working in schools for the past 17 years. She began her career in education at the elementary level but switched to high school when she joined RSL. She finds working with teenagers extremely rewarding and quite fun...most of the time! There is nothing more fulfilling than to help students succeed and feel more confident. She and her husband Chris have been married for 27 years and have lived in Idaho and Montana, but moved back to South Jordan 17 years ago. They have 3 kids and love spending most of their free time watching their kids on the lacrosse field. It is not uncommon to have a house full of teenagers every weekend and she loves it! She also loves to travel, hiking in the beautiful Utah mountains, cooking, reading and shopping.

Greg Ferrie

Greg is entering his first year with the Salt Lake Academy high school coaching boys soccer as well as teaching PE and fitness classes. Greg grew up in Shrewsbury, England and played competitive soccer from the age of 6, representing his school and college in addition to premier league academy development teams. Greg graduated from university in 2014 with his bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science, specifically focusing on physiology, psychology and biomechanics. Whilst studying at university he decided to pursue a career in coaching and worked in local elementary schools providing PE curriculum and extra-curricular sports clubs for kids aged 6-11. Immediately after graduating Greg relocated to the US to continue his coaching career and spent 5 years directing British Soccer camps for Challenger Sports in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico. During this time he settled in Utah joining the staff at Forza Futbol Club before moving on to work with Murray Soccer Club for a year. For the last 3 years he has worked with Shooters Soccer Club, training a number of their teams at a variety of skill levels. Greg holds several soccer licenses from US Soccer and the English FA.

Janice Randall

Janice Randall's passion for teaching began at an early age and her 37 years spent as an educator of English, Literature, Writing, History, and Geography have fueled that passion. She firmly believes that teachers must love what they do if they are to be successful. She greatly enjoys working with teenagers, finding it both challenging and immensely rewarding. Ms. Randall has an intense love of reading and writing and believes strongly that growth in this area will help students in all subjects. She has welcomed the opportunities for personal growth in this dynamic and demanding field. Ms. Randall, a born and bred South African, earned her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa where she majored in English and History and played field hockey for the university. Following her Bachelor of Arts, Ms. Randall completed her Post Graduate Higher Diploma of Education with a focus on English and History and set off on her teaching career. After teaching in South Africa for 16 years, Ms. Randall left the beautiful city of Cape Town to spend three years teaching in Atlanta, Georgia, combining her love of traveling with her passion for teaching. This sojourn in the States further whet her appetite for travel and she then spent time teaching in the UK, South Carolina, Oregon, and most recently at Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas where she taught AP Language and Composition and 11th and 12th grade English for 4 years. She has previously worked as head of English and has taught a variety of English classes including a dual college credit writing class. She loves sports and has coached water polo, swimming, field hockey and softball. Ms. Randall fully supports the extracurricular activities at school and believes that involvement in such activities develops leadership skills and empathy in students. She has been the mentor teacher for the Rotary Interact Club and the School Council and currently runs the National Honors Society at RSL and the Yearbook. Ms. Randall's hobbies, aside from reading, cooking, and various crafts, focus on traveling and has made three coast-to-coast road trips. Her goal is to visit all the National Parks.

Karson Thompson

Karson Thompson was born in Alberta, Canada. He spent most of his childhood in American Fork, Utah, where he developed new communication skills with the help of an encouraging English teacher at American Fork High School. Mr. Thompson hopes to inspire his students to develop critical thinking and writing skills that they didn't know they had. As a high school student, Mr. Thompson was an avid athlete, playing competitive hockey, rugby, and lacrosse. Mr. Thompson also enjoys exploring the outdoors. He has spent the last 3 summers working on a ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. On his days off, he enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, and kayaking with his wife. Mr. Thompson received his BA in English Education from Utah State University, where he also minored in Spanish Education. At Utah State University Karson enjoyed his literature and poetry classes and hopes to continue studying similar subjects. He plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Education. Mr. Thompson has previously taught 9th grade English at Green Canyon High School, 3rd-grade dual-immersion Spanish at Heritage Elementary School and 10th grade English and Spanish 1 at Logan High School. While at Logan High, Mr. Thompson was the assistant lacrosse coach. He hopes to coach lacrosse or rugby at Salt Lake Academy and to one day coach high school hockey.

Mark Ensign

Mark Ensign was born and raised in the Chicago area. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Mr. Ensign lettered in football, baseball, and track. He continued his athletic endeavors into college, competing in track at the NJCAA level. Mr. Ensign graduated with a BS in Biology from UVU in 2012. After completing his teaching certification, Mr. Ensign began teaching in the fall of 2013. He has taught both middle school and high school science and loves getting to share his passion with new students each year. Mr. Ensign coaches high school girls' basketball and high school baseball. Mr. Ensign has been married for nine years and has three children. He enjoys hiking with his family, traveling, coaching youth teams, and officiating UHSAA basketball and baseball games.

McKenna Richards

McKenna Richards is a Utah native who has lived in northern Utah most of her life. Growing up, she spent her free time playing soccer, building lego sets, and watching the History Channel. After attending the University of Utah and BYU, she earned a bachelor's degree in Social Science Teaching in December 2020. Her favorite time period is a toss up between the Late Middle Ages and World War II. She speaks fluent Italian and enjoys traveling to new places. Some of her other hobbies include soccer, reading, embroidering, watching YouTube, and cooking. Mrs. Richards is excited to start her teaching career here at RSL Academy! When she is not at school she can be found hanging out with her high school sweetheart and their dog Chaco.

Nicholas Bartlett

Nicholas Bartlett came to Salt Lake Academy after a decade in collegiate athletics where he obtained experience in many different areas. After graduating with a Business management degree from Southern Utah University in 2009, he stayed on with the Thunderbird Athletic Department in a marketing role. Bartlett joined the Thunderbird staff as a full-time employee in August of 2011 as the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator after a two-year internship in the same capacity. He helped SUU Athletics make the transition from the Summit League Conference to the Big Sky Conference in 2012 including overseeing the official announcement on-campus. Bartlett was also named the meet director for the 2012 Western Athletic Conference Gymnastics Championships where he oversaw the coordination, event management, planning and execution of the meet along with WAC officials. Bartlett oversaw the marketing and promotion of all 17 Division I sports at SUU from 2011 to 2014. During this time he took the program to new heights. Setting new attendance records in football, women's basketball and gymnastics. Attendance in football rose consistently year-to-year and attendance in gymnastics was top-10 in the Nation almost every year. He took over all social media platforms in 2013 where he would grow each platform by an average of 200% per year. In October of 2014, Bartlett was named the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations where he would oversee media relations, marketing and promotions. He oversaw every aspect of external operations for SUU Athletics until October of 2015 when he was named the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Revenue Generation. Bartlett ran a marketing and revenue generation team in charge of marketing, ticket sales, sponsorships, fulfillment, event planning, management and website. He helped launch the new look to SUUTBIRDS.COM in May 2016 and has since set new records in almost all capacities. SUU football broke their average attendance record previously set in 2016 (8,255) with a new record average attendance of 9,084. SUU also broke the single game attendance record set in 2016 on three different occasions in 2017, with new record marks of 10,633 set against Cal Poly on homecoming 2017, 10,842 set in the Big Sky Championship game against NAU, and 11,811 set against Weber State in round two of the FCS Playoffs. Bartlett has been with Salt Lake Academy for three years. The first 2.5 as a teacher of sports management, financial literacy, digital media as well as the advisor for Student Council. He moved into the Athletic Director position in March of 2023.
